Breaking down the Resident Evil 4 demo.

Oh man. I was being chased by a few villagers including the chainsaw guy. I took out all of the villagers except for the chainsaw-wielder. Well, I shot him once in the shoulder, once in the knee, and ran up to kick him. Well, lets just say my head is no longer connected to the rest of my body. :lol When he took my head off, I literally dropped my wavebird. I definetly need the shotgun. :lol

I rushed through the house and didn't look for it. The ammo is just lying out in the square so I don't see why the gun wouldn't be in there.

I'm a bit turned off now from playing the demo. I found it hard if you run out of ammo. =\

I call bullshit. Have you even played the demo?

Scattered around the village are ammo stashes in nearly every structure.

Dead villagers also leave clips behind to keep you fully loaded. Look for the shaft of light over fallen bodies and press the action button to take them.

the shotgun is in plain sight on the scond floor of the two story home in the center of town. right on the wall as soon as you get to the top of the stairs. pretty hard to miss.

Knifeplay ain't that hard.

very true. it took me awhile to realize it, but you can back yourself into a corner and take out wave after wave of guys with only the knife and the melee attacks quite easily.pretty damn handy!

exactly. if anything there is too much ammo in the demo. after a play through or two i found it impossible to run out.

im also still trying to figure out what exactly triggers the end of the demo. it would seem to be killing all of the guys that come after you in town. maybe if you dont trigger the chainsaw guy or dont spawn extra baddies, it just ends after you finish clearing the waves of guys who are on to you?

dosent seem to be timed, because after a few play through you can beat the demo very quickly.

fun -but short- demo. looking forward to Jan 11th!

having watched some of the downloads on ign when they were still up there, the camera is not always placed so close to the player character, there are times when the camera pulls out even though it's not a chase/ run scenario (eg, there's a clip in one of the promo movies where leon's with the girl and they are running). it'd be interesting to see under which conditions is the camera on close up and when it's pulled back (will it be like mgs3 and the way it goes into first person automatically?).

the demo's great, and i hope the game will offer enough variety to keep it going for 8hours or so.

Ever played Resident Evil before?

Yes except for the fact that you don't have hordes of crazy people running after you. With RE the zombies are so damn slow that you have the chance to run away and rethink your objectives.

Really? The only time a villager left behind ammo was when I first entered the house showing that man a pic of Ashley, and then I jumped through the window killing those 2-3 villagers. That was it.

its actually random in the demo. i went through and had about 3-4 guys drop ammo for me in one sitting, and also had run thoughs where no one (that i noticed) dropped any ammo at all.

there is lots of ammo in every building though, and the knife/CQC works just fine too. :)

edit: that reminds me. after playing MGS3 i also really wish that Leon had a forward roll that he could do at any time.

but then that wouldnt really suit the somewhat slower pace of combat in this game i guess. ill cope.
