A battle of road textures and real-time lighting. Same old Burnout gameplay. Yawn.

Nothing I was just providing you with a picture of the Xbox version so your memory doesnt fail you anymore asshat.

You could include that in your message then instead of just writing Xbox, since I didn't know if you were claiming it was better or not or if you were just providing it for reference.

I asked you your point, you could just respond and tell us what it is - no need to be a child like the one in your avatar.

I dont know what you guys are seeing, it looks very average...nothing that jumps out "next gen" in these screenshots.

Is that one of those magical Xbox's that can do full scene 4X AA with supersampling at 1280x960? because I could never find one of those :lol
I think this is from the unlaunched XBOX/HD-DVD Add-On that MS was preparing.

You didn't complain a year back :lol

*ZING!*

sadly, I'm pretty sure that was a prerendered cinematic.

So, PS3 launch then?

[zing!]

no, it was running at a low frame rate and had PS2 like spark effects going on. That was 100% real time. I am sure PS3 will get this port too.

Yes, I'm sure that EA only releases untouched screenshots for 360 games.

wow, looks bad. full auto looks better :lol :(

maybe movies can save it?

(happy, Borys? :lol )

Man, I'd love to be proven wrong but when somebody knows *anything* about graphics and graphics rendering (like me for example, knowing each 3D Accelerator since 3Dfx through & out) he also knows that all those "target renders" are completely unattainable.

Just compare the *beautiful* MGS:4 footage to the *extremely beautiful* Killzone footage.

The first I can believe and I can't wait for it, the second... Guerilla's biggest mistake.

played the demo at CES. Wasn't that impressed. Looked like the Xbox versi0on but with pretty graphics. I'm not against port-ups (I have king kong and NFS on 360, but for this one I'll wait until the next proper Burnout.

Are EA sharing graphics between teams? That asphalt looks identical to the NFS:MW stuff.

Seems to be a port with a few enhancements to the textures just like NFSMW. I want to see the real next gen Burnout but that may be in another 9+ months.

And you are right Mrklaw, a lot of the textures look very similar to NFS.

I'm really hoping Criterion uses the PS2 visuals as the graphical base for this 360 port.

I don't care what anyone says, the PS2 version of Burnout Revenge was far better looking than the Xbox version. The lighting effects in particular were just missing on the Xbox version.

It's certainly not next gen by any means. It's Gun Next Gen. :lol

Nah, difference is that Burnout are already awesome looking games, and direct next gen effort without full blown built from the ground up and long dev time isn't going to make it look that spectacular in comparision.

You guys really shouldn't accept shit like this, but it's your fucking funeral if you keep buying it.

'Cuz we all know there's nothing more indicative of a game's potential entertainment value than a few random screenshots posted on GAF.

I mean, no, the game is hardly inspiring in the graphical department, but it's hardly like the cancer some people are painting it as. Looks decent and likely will be a blast to play. Shrug. I dunno. Guess I'm stoopid.

It's an improvement , with a hi def TV I'm sure it'll look pretty nice, nice enough to justify repurchasing it if you bought it allready? no. Nice enough to warrent the 60 USD pricetag? no. Nice enough that in 6 months when its 30 bucks it'll be worth a grab- sure. There are some obvious improvements , pretty much the texture work on the cars, especially the tires is way better. The environmental textures look about the same but I"m willing to bet it has per pixel motion blur and better lighting then before.

What? Obviously you haven't played the PS2 version on an HDTV. It looks that good and then some.
I'm referencing an old thread.

It looks bad because of those awful MS paint spraycan burn textures. If it had much better textures on the imperfections it would look great.

It looks alright from those screens but I think Full Auto looks a lot more impressive. I might change my mind when I see Burnout 360 in motion though.

You be the judge. I think the son just beat the father.

Full Auto is terribly underwhelming in motion both visually and gameplay wise.

In any case, if this is a simple port and is identical the current gen games save for some higher res textures and fancy next gen effects, I'm sold. I, for one, love the Burnout series and totally dug revenge.

Am I the only person on the planet who thinks that NFS: MW was as good looking, if not better looking than PGR3? I thought it had a more organic feel to it. Burnout Revenge seems to have the same thing going for it.

Nothing compared to what the game looks like on PS2? Outside of the image quality, that's exactly how the game looks...

Are you trying to say that Burnout has been beat by Full Auto? I hope thats not what you're trying to say with those pics because to my human eyes it appears quite obvious Burnout is the winner of that pic faceoff. It's really not even that close IMO.

Full Auto has completely destructible environments though...Burnout Revenge does not. That's the big difference between the two.

Honestly....they don't really look that apart from each other with those pics. If I didn't know any better you could of just said they were from the same game and I wouldn't really think about it.

Late to this party perhaps, but chiming in anyway.

"Meh."

I expect more from next gen. And frankly, these 360 shots make me love my gorgeous PS2 version even more.

Looks good (except the paint scratches...that's just fugly) but not orgasmic or anything. Shots like this actually make me more secure that ports to the Nintendo Revolution will be pretty damn faithful, graphicly.

Why, because a PS2 port doesn't take much advantage of the hardware?

Never picked this up on the Xbox, loved Takedown,so this is a must buy for me.

You play 360 games? :lol or did you change your gamertag and not tell me :(

Looks pretty good to me,but id rather see some vids before I judge it.

I see what you did there.

But seriously, not dissing the hardware out of bias or anything (Call of Duty 2 looks kicky and all) but, aside from Gears of War, I haven't really seen anything mind blowing enough on the 360 that doesn't look possible (or at the least highly approachable) on a 'graphicly lesser' platform like the Revolution. Fight Night looks amazing too, but if you have millions of poly's in your budget, nice effects, and good modelers, and your main point of visual impact is two boxers in a ring, well...

Topic's been done to death, though :)

I wasn't really aiming for anything. I just figure that if you want to have a good idea of how cross platform games will be, you'll need to look at next gen cross platform games (i.e. RE5, Armored Core... etc) instead of cross platform games from this gen.

Ah, true enough.

I don't think so man. Damn I hate to start off the spark war but....

Whenever I see Burnout:Revenge show sparks like these two pics below
fullauto20bu.jpg

fullauto34hz.jpg

Or show fully desructible buildings like this

I'm going to say Full Auto is the winner in the screenshot wars.

not really impressed with thee pics... from these screens they look exactly like the 360 version with...

- Better Damage Modeling
- 720p Display
- Blurring

now im not impressed with the pics... but knowing the 360 and the media that 3rd parties release... it's best to see the game in motion to get a more accurate feel of how things look.
