I just got back from camping and it has made me realize that owning a truck would be rad. What make and models I should be looking into for aprox. $20,000? F1-50? Ram? This is coming from a car guy with next to no truck knowledge so point me in the right direction peoples.

F-150 is probably your best bet. Had one but sold it. Its probably the best and most reliable american car.

Yeah from what I've heard they are really reliable and I'm gonna keep an eye out for some used 2004 2005 models with low milage. Another question now: what companies are doing the employee pricing still?

I think everyone is still but GM stopped or is stopping. I think some even opened up the employee discounts to none employees so anyone can get the discount. Im not sure so you might have to look it up or wait for someone to confirm.

What ever you do, don't buy an S-10. I have a 2003 S-10 ZR2 and it is a plastic piece of shit. Every year they take away more features and don't fix the existing problems.

Yeah, I know...they used to be great. I've owned 4 S-10s and they get worse every year.

If you have no specific reason for owning a truck, anything will do. Just pick out you can find in your price range. Be sure to check the invoice prices by typing "(vehicle name) invoice" in Google, and use those as a target sale price. No truck on the market is worth its MSRP.

I drive a few of the latest models at my work, yet I don't know too much about trucks really.

But I prefer the F-250 (don't know the price) to most other trucks. Dodge trucks seem pretty good, and I dislike Chevies. Man...I sometimes drive the Chevy down the highway at night, and other semis and cars flash their beams at me because they think my highbeams are on, but they aren't. Apparently Chevrolet made them too bright, even on normal settings.

I had to use the F250s during a driving test at a race track and it was pretty sweet. Maybe that's why I like it so much, it handled well and it's pretty fast.
