Can you still game well while drunk?

I'm so old that getting drunk isn't fun any more. I wouldn't know what my limit is since I no longer drink to excess.

I haven't played a game drunk in a long time, alcohol gives me severe headaches.
Now i have played dead by daylight whilst tripping. Now that was a fun time.

I don't drink and game often, but some games can be more fun when buzzed/drunk. I enjoy playing the Yakuza or Judgement games while drinking.

If I'm going to inebriate and game I prefer weed or psychs. Bloodborne while tripping is a one of a kind experience.

Not particularly, but I do alright with fighters with a few drinks and an edible in me, which I'm amazed at. Played Skullgirls on Thanksgiving with my daughter, and I had taken a little bit of an edible and had a beautiful 16 year scotch on the table in front of us that I was nursing, and I cleaned house every round. She's getting quite good too, but I'm proud to say I did quite respectably. I think I've just been playing fighters so long that it's become a second nature of sorts now.

Buzzed, yes definitely and it also makes me better at fighting games. Drunk, hell no, even though I still try but end up passing out.

Even small amount of alcohol(like a beer or two, depending on the person) will slow down ur reaction time, and by visible amount, just play games that dont require fast response time or that u can play leasury, and i say it as a polish guy who is basically unsinkable, i can still talk and walk after 2liters of vodka w/o any problems. We start this stuff early in life and at least some part of our slavik population( i include russian, bellarusian and ukrainian ppl too-think of it as a alco-resistance gene-rectangle) can somehow tolerate alco quite well and our reaction time is still affected even by small doses.

Funny anecdote: vodka in polish means lil(small) water, while in constrast for native american indians(who are very prone to quickly getting drunk), it means fire water ;)

I mostly game while drinking but I do get to that point later in the evening where I need the more passive entertainment of watching a show or random youtube

I used to now this guy who claimed he was a better driver when high. I told him that’s retarded as it made no logical sense. He couldn’t resolve the thinking he was better to the reality.

Hate playing games when drinking. I’m just worse in every way.

I do enjoy edibles though. Probably still worse at games on them though.

I've completed so many raids and dungeons in Destiny 2 while drunk. I wake up the next day and see my completions and am like, wow i don't remember that at all.

There's a sweet spot that enhances my ability to do pretty much anything when reached.

If we're talking about actually being DRUNK, not buzzed or whatnot, probably wouldn't be great unless I'm already pretty good at whatever I'm doing.

I do better with a few drinks as it stops me from overthinking. Can't game while stoned though, not sure how people do it.

A couple months ago when I had a big drinking problem, I used to play overwatch drunk all the time every day. It would actually help out because it calmed My nerves and my aim was considerably better. All my friends admitted it. The only problem was my decision making skills went out the window, I would jump in to two or three on one battles all the time , kill one person but get obliterated by the others. Fun times 🥳

I dont drink but i take a gummie or two sometimes.
Once iit kicks in i have no clue whats going on or what i am doing but i pause and admire a lot of small details i otherwise wouldnt pick up on.
Sometimes the buzz is just right and i have a great experience and enjoy the game way more than i should.

I've never been drunk but the answer is no. My gameplay noticeably becomes sloppy when I'm buzzed or high.

There was one glorious night where I was very high and played Hades all night and ripped off multiple winning runs in a row but that isn't the norm.

How drunk are we talking?

If it's COD, I'll probably do okay. Maybe UFC too.

But I rarely drink nowadays, so might be different now. Lol

I can't game well anyway at all now, but love gaming after having a few drinks more so in my 40's as it makes me far less frustrated and far more willing to stick with a game, rather than getting pissed off and turning it off.

Also, retro gaming when pissed is the best at the midpoint of one's life. It just makes all those happy memories of gaming when you were young come flooding back and getting filled with nostalgia.

I cannot game for shit when I'm legit drunk. A buddy of mine, on the other hand, seems to become superhuman and can walk through games the rest of the crew had trouble with sober.

I think so, when I first started consuming weed though I thought I'd never be able to play games while baked, the first time I tried I ended up running against a wall for 3 minutes in Assassin's Creed without realizing. But little by little it actually becomes a lot more fun. I beat Elden Ring completely baked.

I got my platinum in Tekken 7, during my birthday, when were drunk as shit, and we decided at 3 am to go online and organize a tournament. I found out that I got the platinum only 2 days later after I accidentally saw my profile in PSN, and no, I don't remember what happened that night :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Fighting games, Mario Party, Mario Kart, and Lego Games playing those drunk with friends or my wife is super satisfying.

But in single-player games like Elden Ring, I get punished every 20 seconds.

I agree, group games and fighting games are ideal, I have 2 TVs in 2 rooms and 2 consoles (So that my wife and I could play together, God, if only Monster Hunter would come faster). And when we have holidays or guests - beer, pizza + Street fighter, Tekken, etc. They are ideal =)))

I once got 7th in the world on a Trials HD track when I was completely smashed. I could never get anywhere near the time again after that, fuck knows what happened
