Do all that... then post pics of the system.

I don't see a DS icon or a wrench or nothing. I think it's telling me ta input a nickname for the system. Did I skip something I can't go back to??

Here's the picture lik-sang has. I dun got a camera or nothing for a personalize one if that's what ya meant.

No. Just touch some letters and shit to get the nickname part to go away. You may have to calibrate it too. Just remember that A is the button to confirm things and B cancels.

Once you've set it up, when you turn it on you'll see the DS loading screen. At the bottom of the touch screen is a little icon of the DS. Touch that to start.

you can go back and change everything else later once it's in English.

There we go! Thanks Haleon! Now things are off to a good start.

My first game to play in it will be my first DS game which I had gotten for Christmas last year. FtM!

Oh and hi immortal enemy!

No problem. Buy Mario Kart.

The acronym QFT would normally go here, except it doesnt convey quite how fucking truthful it really is.

YOU REALLY NEED MARIO KART!

Hey Lindsay, how much did the Pink DS set you back? I really want to pick one up to replace my silver ds with the "Chewie is my Co-Pilot" sticker on it :X

That is not as cool as I thought it was. . I thought it was a lighter pink. That's more of a magenta :(

It's the lack of lighting... it's hard to capture the shade of pink it is, but it's more or less "pearl pink".

The Mew one (Tokyo pokemon center edition) is a very light pink (it's not so obvious at the first time, in bad lighting conditions), and I'm very fond of it.

Regardless of how you set up your settings the first time, you can always easily change them from the system settings. If you set your DS to autoboot when you power on, just hold the start button when you turn it on. This will force it to system settings.

And how does this Pink DS compare to a Fuschia GBA?

ha ha Feel the Magic made my mom go wtf? o.O

She was all like "Lindz what the heck kind of game is that and why did you want it?!"

Though I'm sure she woulda been just as disturbed had there been a "girls" version. *shrug*

Got Super Circuit as my very first GBA game and still play it today. Is that good enough? :)

Aren't you an anime nut? You would think you would have picked up enough Japanese by now to navigate through a couple menus.

According to MetatronM I'm an anime hater......
But regardless I watch dubs-only aside from Sailor Moon & To Heart 2.

Lik-sang has it for $149.90 lol. And all of their shipping options are > $20 so at least $175. But for me personally it was only $120-some since $50 of it came as part of an early Christmas present.

Trust in the Tsubaki! It really really is pink not magenta.

As for Candy Pink vs Fuschia GBA~I got mine sitting side by side and these is a world of difference in the color but they compliment each other well!

I got one of these for my girlfriend in Tokyo a couple months back. Is there any way to set the menus so that they're in English? Because, while she figured out how to change the text to English so that she could name it in our language, the boot-up menu where you choose the game and pictochat and all that is still in Japanese. Thanks.

Seems like your girlfriend just shifted through the character text to get English Characters as input keys.

To change the menu text into English you first need to click on the little DS icon at the bottom center of the lower screen. You'll then see 4 icons, click on the wrench one, which is the first one. Then three 3 icons appear. Clicking on the Globe/Sphere will bring you to the Language menu. In this menu, you'll see the word "English", clicking on this makes the menu in English.

My mew DS limited edition is better. Got it at the Pokemon Center when I was in Tokyo this past summer.

I still think that white DS is the best looking of all the DS colors, dunno what's taken Nintendo so long to release it in the US.

Awesome! My girlfriend will be stoked. Thank you.

I put the Milky Pink (or US Fuschia) GBA next to it as a comparison, as well as the white to show lighting balance.

My god, everytime I see a picture of the system in a new color I have to go like "nope, still fugly" >_<

Now you just need a pink Kirby stylus to go with it!

Even though it's a different pink and wouldn't really match.

edit: and I can't wait until I get Animal Crossing on this thing, now that Lindsay's got a DS.

Shoot. Here I am stuck with a pink GBA SP, pink DS, white DS, white PSP (as well as silver DS, black PSP, and silver SP) and no camera.

Aren't you a huge AC fan? Like, still playing the GC version every day?

Or, am I thinking of someone else...?

My original (possibly inaccurate) point was that it would be fun to play AC DS with/in the town of someone who really enjoys AC.

I do play it every day. But even if I would get the inferior DS version:

56k'd.

Except for that whole, you can still use the D-pad and buttons to play if you want, right?

Really? NP's way of writing made it seem otherwise to me. If you can use the d-pad for walking around that's certainly a good thing.
