Capcom denies CG World report on dowgraded PS2 RE4

Capcom denied a previous rumor regarding to the PlayStation 2 port of Biohazard 4 being downgraded in graphic quality. The company stated that the review in the Japanese CG World magazine has never took place and the report was completely false.

It was clear from the article that the people at the CG magazine were just speculating on numerous what-ifs, and that it wasn't any kind of interview or a review of an actual code.
 
They should go find the guys that were working on this for the PS2 to do RE4

Good lord, people still care about this bullshit? Just buy the game now or later on PS2. Why do we have to keep going over this as if the game is magically going to look a thousand times better in the port?

What happened to Appeal eventually??
They were working for Infogrames on Outcast 2,then they announced the project was blocked or cancelled and then?
Are they still alive as a devloper?

Many, many Nintendo fans want the PS2 version to fail horribly, just BECAUSE. They think it'll look like Charlie's Angels and run with 2 fps, because the PS2 is soooooooooooooo underpowered. Various Nintendo-only sites reported about that fake CG World article, how poor is that?

At the end of the day, those screens were pretty far from being a game, and that was the problem.

I know. I think everyone needs to get over themselves and buy the version they will be most comfortable with.

I want RE4 PS2 to be good or whatever. I just want this baby to sell. Mikami + Capcom needs to know theres a market for RE5. I'll own a PS3 for sure... a winner is me!
 
Damn it, I was so crushed when Outcast 2 was cancelled. Outcast was absolutely amazing and I am dying for a sequel...

I'll buy the Cube version in march to support Capcom for this awesome game. However I believe the PS2 version is going to be very solid and if it's solid enough in my view AND has any worth extras I'll buy that, too.
 
I have the cube version, and I'll blow another 50 on the PS2 version if it gets me closer to RE5. :)

This game is special to say the least, and it has absolutely nothing to do with what system I'm playing it on. People that are hoping that the PS2 version brings back memories of the Atari 2600 port of Pac Man need to go take a bath with their favorite toaster.

This is also why I want to stab many Nintendo enthusiasts. A series is "garbage" or ignored until devs throws Ninty a bone, then suddenly the installment that hits their system is the "best in the series" (see Tales of Symphonia, although I'll never say anything disparaging about RE4. It would have been solid regardless of platform) It really hurts the credibility of these Nintendo-centric sites to deliver news like that without properly checking sources, but then again one shouldn't expect much from the current game journalism circle.

I'm sure RE 4 PS2 will kick ass just the same

edit: I take that back last Gen capcom bitched about how the N64 carts could never hold RE
then with a little extra work it ended up on a cart anyway... Capcom is full of shit :)

This means very little; they might as well have issued a statement saying that they were doing their best but that the port would inevitably turn out worse in terms of graphics due to the crap nature of the PS2 hardware.

how many people want nintendo to fail horribly? damning nintendo articles are posted on sites all the time, no matter if the news is true or not.. dont point the finger at nintendo fans.. point it at the video game media .
 
mystic prediction : PS2 version to be graphically down graded - after playing DMC3 - which is still a fine looking game - things like IQ get shat on quite badly and it becomes jaggy and muddy, i think PS2 RE4 will be in a similar ball park in terms of looks (which would be a down grade from the GC version which is one of the best looking video games ever made)

However, the big pull of the Ps2 version will be the extras - and i have a feeling there is gonna be something huge in there that will pull people to the PS2 version. Something like : after completion, play the game as Dante... something awesome like that.

I'm piss drunk so i'll say it. People who want nintendo to die need to have their testicles force fed to them. Nintendo are the only "games only" player left - and people want them to fail? Well you can lick the cheese from my bell, because that sucks.
