It looks like Jun Takeuchi is trying to push the game to be as authentic as possible, stating that the things in the game, such as the firearm, glove and footwear will be based on the real world items.

More Capcom interviews will be up in the next few weeks.

So things you weren't able to do on previous consoles, you were able to do this time out?
Takeuchi said:
Yes, we were able to do things this time that we couldn't do with the limitations of previous consoles. A few years back we were somewhat certain that a new console (next-gen system) would appear that could handle better, cinematic graphics, and so we began to lay the groundwork for researching that. The MT Framework tool we use at Capcom is the result of that research. All of that research and the resulting tools went into Resident Evil 5. My personal feeling is that we got the best graphics possible for the game, and I'm fairly confident that we're the only game company in Japan capable of doing that.

Sounds like what Ubi Montreal said about Assassin's Creed. The lighting model sounds great, though I haven't seen the full extent of its implementation yet in the media I've seen.

We did spend a lot of time developing it, but we also had advanced technology at our disposal.
