Carlton is officially cooler than Will Smith

Will Smith was the coolest guy, when I was a little teen. He was awesome as the fresh prince.
It's is really impressive how much he as fallen from grace. Now he looks like the biggest loser, a complete "has been".

On the other hand, Alfonso is still rocking it.

To quite a few people, Will as a musician was never cool, he was just popular. His rap was always seen as safe and for older audiences compared to his peers. As an actor he was spectacular.

Not saying he didn't have hits in music though.

That seems like one of those really low budget music videos from the late 80s.

Noticed his wife wasn't in the video…

Just compare Alfonso Ribeiro's wholesome family with Will Smith's parody of it and it's clear to see that Riberio won the lottery of life and not the milt-multimiljonair with the decades long movie career.

Since his slap incident over 3 years ago, he's done only 1 movie - a Bad Boys sequel. Before that he was doing flicks practically every year, sometimes multiple movies.

Couldn't Will like... actually afford Pretty Girls or something 🤔
Not saying they're ugly, but for the premise of the video.....

IMDB says he has 6 films in Pre Production. Among the films that include a couple of sequels, people will surely welcome his remake of Planes, Trains and Automobiles and absolutely not be certain that it'll be a cursed film that everyone will hate.

Agree. It always made sense that we would have some rappers going for the "family friendly" vibe. Smith was the biggest to cash in on that segment of the market. I was born in 1980, and growing up in the 90s, I never knew anyone who bought one of his tapes. Kids my age wanted the rap tapes with the parental warning on the cover.

As an actor though, he surprised me repeatedly. Seeing how things turned out for him is just sad.

I listened to this a couple of times and I found two fixable problems.

1) The tempo is too slow. It sounds better on 1.1 speed. Maybe a DJ will fix this in a future mix.

2) The video sucks, specifically old-man Will jumping around and dancing with the speed of an almost-60 year old.

That slap really messed him up. Since the serious actor vibe was ruined, the man is trying HARD to get back the fresh prince vibe in his (almost) 60s.

Almost like a male version of old (wo) man vibe of current Katy Perry.

Completely out of touch

The Addams familly has nothing on these freaks!

Good God,so edgy...I can almost imagine them bottling their farts to smell them later.

When people talk rap, nobody ever brings up Will Smith. Going by his wiki discography, his biggest hit was a Men in Black song (not surprisingly).

But his Hollywood career has tons of hits. That mid 90s to mid 2000s range practically all his movies were big hits. Since then it's still pretty solid, but he's got his share of clunkers now. He's getting old though (56), so he cant play the witty Fresh Prince/comedy kind of personality he infused into so many movies so much anymore.

As somebody who grew up during his prime it is sad to see what happened to Will Smith. I still think he could have a comeback if he left Jada and got his mojo back.

His music might have been corny but Summertime is and always will be a banger.

This sounds terrible. Is that what passes as music nowadays?
