Castlevania Order of Ecclesia Trailer @ Official Site (First Gameplay vid!)

Nice new artstyle and beginning cutscene

Ass in-game graphics-- no improvement whatsoever from what I see, and the gameplay looks the same. These Copyvanias are starting to make me yawn :(

Stop hatin' you fucking Flygon =P

I've been consistent since the first shots of Portrait Ruined was shown and will continue to do so until I bask in a giant heaping of crow when a CV game actually amazes me. Until then >:p

If the AWESOME-WOWSOME of PoR didn't convince you, then you are one of The Lost Souls. You have no hope for happiness again.

Looks great, wtf was that at the end? Am I the only one who thinks those enemies at the end = metroids?

Metroidvania confirmed?

Lol. Only "copyvania" if you ask me would be HoD. And I'm among those who await a new old-school CV experience.

As much as I miss Ayami Kojima's artwork I've got to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I liked that trailer. I'll change that to say I'm cautiously optomistic for now...

I see you agree with me that you would rather see the franchise dead.

So, all games on PS1 / N64 / Dreamcast and even last gen that were having CD intros (clearly disconnecting from the in-game style) were all a waste of style that should have become buried franchises? It really sound bad following your logic guys!

I've had the GBA/PS1/DS Castlevanias but have never gotten around to playing them. Up until a few days ago it was only the NES ones and the awesome SNES Castlevania IV.

Finally sat down and started playing Circle of the Moon and it's great...but hard. I just finished beating Adramelech (the huge head and two hands in shackles) and now I'm at the twin dragons. These bosses have a huge amount of hit points. Very fun game but at my old age I no longer feel shame for referring to gamefaqs for help.

If all of these follow the same formula though, including this one, I can see how somebody can get burnt out on the series.

I found the twin dragons to be the hardest boss in the game. My strategy in the end was to get the card combination that gives you the rose petal sword (the one that has insane reach) and just keep on jumping and hitting them, while throwing axes or crosses.

Play Aria of Sorrow next, it's the formula perfected.

It's really too bad they had to spoil that boss fight with the crab monster thing in the video. Seeing what's-her-face drop the elevator on the thing would have been much cooler had I first seen it in-game.

Also, that underground water area looks a lot like the one from Symphony of the Night. Some of the cave areas are giving me a Super Castlevania IV vibe, too.

The new art-style looks nice, though it's no Kojima. As for the rest of the trailer, it looks like it's delivering more of what I like from Castlevania: new maps to explore, lots of varied ways to kill things, and grotesque bosses. I look forward to it.

Here's hoping that the fanservice post-game is as good as Julius Mode in DoS or "Richiter" mode in PoR.

I'm not going to read this whole thread, but I am sad they spoiled the crab fight. I actually stopped watching when I saw that. I was already going to get this... I should have known better.

I want this game.

OH hell yes, everything about this game just screams awesome. The artwork, the kick-ass music, the fact they are keeping the formula the same, a game title I cannot pronounce, and a GIANT FUCKING CRAB IN A TOWER.

no one wants to start a new thread about the E3 impressions.

So far, all the hands on impressions are very positive, especially the IGN one. They are saying that the game is seperating itself from SOTN and the new gylph system is making the game much more fun and verstile.

I am pumped. :D

I'm stupidly late to the party for this video. Lovely art, and I'm amazed that there was some actual platforming shown off. Can't wait.
