Chan Marshall a.k.a Cat Power has been my favorite artist for the past eight or so years, as well as the only person worthy of being an avatar, yes including Jesus. Her voice could make almost any song sound brilliant, and her lyrics are always challenging and powerful (apologies for the vagueness, but Cat Power eludes precise description).

I've recently been listening to older stuff again, especially What Would the Community Think? which I love more and more each time I hear it, and lots of bootleg/rarities stuff.

My favorite Cat Power songs, in rough order:

Anyway...I'm part of the Cat Power fan club too, though I haven't really heard as much stuff by her as I should have by now. Those videos are fantastic though, so thanks astro.

Favorite songs that I've heard are probably "Fool", "We Dance" (Pavement cover...I'm kinda partial ), and "Colors and Kids".

I didn't get a meltdown, but after the opening act we waited around three hours I think for her to come on; she said "sorry, I was asleep." Get an alarm clock! Get two!
