you can't put a price on sparks
i'm getting a new cell phone soon, and i was wondering if anyone has experience with either phone.

i've read reviews on them, and it seems like they're both even -- the enV appears to be a better camera, and a better phone itself, but the Samsung is a lot more stylish, thinner, and looks a little more functional to me.

does anyone have any suggestions or experience with these two phones?

i won't be using it for music at all...unfortunately verizon doesn't let you use your own mp3s as ringtones, so i'm stuck with MIDIs :P

I've toyed around with both and I highly recommend the enV. The Samsung one is just weird since the buttons are so small and cramped, compared to the enV's very open and spaced layout.

IMO, go for the enV.

I've owned the enV since its release and I have zero complaints about it. It's got tons of features, a small profile and is solid as a rock. I highly recommend it.

My fiance has the Samsung, and my roomate has the enV.

The Samsung phone in all honesty is the cooler/better phone, but you need to make sure you are able to get used to it's qwerty setup. The keypad is pretty tiny, and takes some getting used to.

The keypad is a deal breaker for me, but she swears by it.

I'm looking to upgrade my Verizon phone in Nov. I have been wanting an enV for a while...but i have no idea what might be on the market by Nov...if nothing, then enV is the way i might go.

I don't know about the Samsung, but the enV is a great phone. Good battery life (so long as you don't use the media capabilities non-stop), camera is NICE and has a lot of functions a real camera has. The QWERTY keyboard is great, very easy to get used to. The speakers are great, and they get LOUD; awesome for music playback or speaker phone. There are a ton of other features but you probably read up on them.

BTW, you can make your own ringtones, but it requires you making them on your own on your computer, then uploading them to your phone. It's rather simple: use a program like Audacity and create a short 20-30 sec clip of whatever song you want as the ringtone, then use a MicroSD card and take it from your comp to your phone. Save it to the phone's memory and you're good to go.

i've tried this with my current phone, the Samsung A950, and it doesn't seem to work for some reason. You have to make it into a certain bitrate and mono and it sound crappy as hell. maybe i'm doing something wrong with it, or maybe its just because its Samsung or something. Samsung phones from verizon appear to be more restrictive than the LG ones -- and this is considering that Verizon is restrictive as it is.

i was leaning towards the enV already, but it looks like that'll be the phone i choose. i'll probably go check it out at the verizon store sometime.

Love my SCH-U740. Works great and I get a lot of attention when using it

Hasn't worked very well since I dropped it in water though...
