I've installed AoE III demo on my new laptop and it says that I don't meet the minimum requirements as the game requires atleast 1.4MHz processor and mine is only 600!!

this sucks...

I thought my laptop was a bit powerful with the ATi 9700 (Mobile edition)

blaah...

can I boost that????

please say yes..

oh and it was plugged to the power when it said that
plug it into a wall.

That was the first think I noticed when I tried to install WoW on my laptop. If the laptop isn't plugged in, it downclocks the CPU to conserve power :P

Dink around in the Power Options in the Control Panel. There should be a few options/schemes in there to run it at full-speed all the time. I'd be more specific, but I'm not on my laptop right now.

there's usually a utility that will let you switch the processor into adaptive mode (scales clock with load. it's a little optimistic though so to get highest manufacturer rated battery life they set it to default min clock on battery) packed in by the manufacturer.

ps, you're dumb

I tried finding an option, but I didn't find anything about the processor!!

can someone help me please?

thanks
Did you power up the laptop while plugged-in? If you first start Windows on battery, I've noticed that you can run into issues of this sort.

I'll try that now...

but i have to re-install the demo first

The demo has HORRIBLE preformance, I tried it on my A64 system with 1GB of ram and 256mb ati 9800XT and the game lagged BADLY, my brother bought some sort of boxed set or something (that's what it looks like) and he was playing and it was preforming leaps and bounds ahead of the demo. Keep the AC connectioned to the laptop or turn off the Centrino Ultra powersaver within the BIOS and that should solve your problem.

it worked :D

I needed a display driver update too :)

the demo ran perfectly on my PC (A64 3200+, 1GB RAM, 9800 PRO) with everything on very high!!

thanks for the program link, I won't use it for now, but I'll bookmark the thread for future

thanks a lot :)

You need a special program. I can mail it to you, but first I need your bank account numbers and your SSN so I can process payment and, er, expedite the shipping. Yeah.

;)
