I don't see a reason to apologize for that picture at all.
Nothing wrong with pointing out that Penn State condoned child molestation when they looked the other way about Sandusky, and nothing wrong with pointing out that their alums continue to deny that Penn State did anything wrong.
I think the comments skewering this "non-scandal" on the Deadspin comments to this article are spot on.
"A good way to explain that banner BTW
"Well you see son, Penn State University, the University that banner is purporting to represent, condoned the abuse and molestation of children- some as young or younger than you!- for several years because they're terrible human beings. That banner serves as a reminder that nobody should ever forget that a group of monsters put a college football program ahead of protecting children.""

Or we can continue to be 75 year old men who apologize to everything and everyone except our fanbase for continuing to provide a shitty product that cares more about being "classy" then it does about wins, and failing to even provide the former. You can continue to care about this APR shit Draxal, that's fine. I don't. I want a winning product. I would rather be UNC than Rice University.
You know what, Rutgers does owe an apology. They owe an apology to me for continue to put out a crappy product and forcing me to accept it in the name of "doing things the right way."
Where the fuck is my apology Julie? Oh that's right, you got more volleyball players to abuse first, and some more PR boondoogles to involve yourself in as well. Maybe, after you get done commenting about getting some newspapers closed down, you'll finally make time for improving the product on the field.
