I don't see a reason to apologize for that picture at all.
Nothing wrong with pointing out that Penn State condoned child molestation when they looked the other way about Sandusky, and nothing wrong with pointing out that their alums continue to deny that Penn State did anything wrong.
I think the comments skewering this "non-scandal" on the Deadspin comments to this article are spot on.

Or we can continue to be 75 year old men who apologize to everything and everyone except our fanbase for continuing to provide a shitty product that cares more about being "classy" then it does about wins, and failing to even provide the former.
