Chapelle's Show is returning to Netflix w/ Chapelle's blessing

Rich people getting more money really isn’t that exciting to me. Good for Dave I guess. I mean, the entertainment business is such a cesspool, so if someone manages to scoop a few more dollars out of, that’s great.

He said himself he signed the contract. I understand he feels wronged because of how successful the show was, but you always have to read the fine print. At least he's satisfied now and the situation is over and done with.

To be fair, hollywood and the music industry is notorious for screwing over the creators. Just look at Taylor Swift and how much money she lost. A lot of people don't know what they are signing when put under pressure.

I don't remember her ratio of gain/loss right now, just that there was some big controversy and she's trying to recoup costs by redoing her old albums. Anyway, you get the point. Read what you sign folks, or get a lawyer

The classic example is the guy who wrote Forrest Gump who apparently never got any money for the movie.(Supposedly when asked for the rights to do a sequel he said no because he didn't want to be involved with a sequel to a failure.)

I know this is the general view of it, but come on, in her case it's that she has zero ownership of her own music, has zero say in where it can be used, etc, which as a creative person you kinda want in the end but you can't get your major start without giving that away. It's a difficult thing for a person working a normal job to grasp as the mindset will just be "well they got paid, so what?".

Yeah that dude's a fucking scumbag. Normally don't give a shit what happens to some multimillionaire's money or things, but this is just dumb af. Is she still planning on rerecording all of it?
