The upcoming third season of Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show is apparently only half-baked.


Work on the hugely anticipated new season of Dave Chappelle's sketch show is behind schedule due to its 31-year-old ringleader's illness and lack of new material from his writing staff, according to the New York Post.


The new season was supposed to premiere Feb. 16. It will now begin airing sometime in late April or May, per the Post.


"Dave--and his entire production crew for that matter--got a bit of a late start on writing season three," network spokeman Tony Fox told the newspaper.


Chappelle has reportedly been laid up with a nasty flu bug, adding to delays brought on by the lack of written material so far for season three. The Emmy-nominated comedy is currently on hiatus for the holidays and will resume production in January.

And in not so related news, I urinated next to Dave Chapelle at Union Square cinemas last saturday night. I didn't say anything 'cause I didn't want to bother the guy, but while he was washing his hands a kid came in and was like, "OOOOHHHHH SNAAAAPPPP, IT'S DAVE MUTHERFUCK CHAPPELLE." He was like, "Heeeeyyy man, just here trying to catch a movie." And as I left you could here people zipping midstream to come talk to him. Poor guy. Anyway, later.

They wanted the season two dvd's to come out right when season 3 hit.Interest in the Dvd's would help draw in people for season 3,atleast I think thats their line of thinking.

Geez, Chappelle and his staff are funny when they try to be, but they sure are fuckin' lazy. Only 13 episodes (2 of which don't even require new material) and they still can't make deadlines....

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Shit, Chappelle signs a massive deal that should net him $50+ million and suddenly his writers can't produce enough material on time? It'd be one thing if it was just him being sick, but c'mon, what excuse is there for the writers? And why did they start late?

Shit, if I signed a deal like that, I'd want to stay on the good side of my employer, not start screwing around with the first element of the deal. A two or three month delay is a rather big deal for Comedy Central, or really any network or cable channel that has to plan its schedules far in advance.

It's more than half the show, its like 6/10 of the show is just a stupid break. And then like 5 minutes at the end is the musical guest appareance.

Oh well, still cant wait for Season 2 DVD and Season 3.
