Released via Comedy Central Home Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, "Chappelle's Show: Season 2 Uncensored" DVD hit retail stores nationwide on Tuesday, May 24 and now stands as the fastest-selling TV on DVD title in history. It continues to rapidly climb the overall sales charts which is currently topped by the wildly popular series' own release of its first season. The first day sales of "Chappelle's Show: Season 2 Uncensored" DVD eclipsed week one sales of "Seinfeld: The Complete Fourth Season" DVD.

As much as I appreciate Chappelle's Show (especially season 2), I must admit that after watching the entire second season, I'd consider only half of it funny, the rest not so great.

I fully expect his "breakdown"/retreat to be fodder for some funny-as-hell skits throughout the (eventual) 3rd season.

I have to agree. Maybe I just expected him to top Season 1 and it didn't deliver for me.

Has anyone noticed that Comedy Central sort of slyly mocked Chappelle's disappearance in their promotion for his comedy special (Killin' Them Softly)? The ads showed a tabloid with his picture and the narrator said "Dave Chappelle's back," followed by "back on stage, that is."

Kinda funny, but if I were Comedy Central, I'm not sure I'd be pushing his buttons while milking his standup, given their relationship.

Did you catch the ad for the "Chappelle's Show No Show Marathon"? It was basically a shot of "Dave's Answering Machine" full of mesages from Comedy Central. The messages would be something like "Hey Dave...heard a crazy rumor that you were in South Africa...give me a call..."

The extra stand-up on Season 2 DVD bonus disc is hilarious

Chappelle -"Damn dont you people watch the news? Black people dont watch the news man, you need to start educating yourselves. They could be bringing back slavery next Wednesday and you wouldnt even know it" "aww man...awww, I didnt even know man, I was watching the Steve Harvey show"

:lol

I agree. Season 1 was better overall imo.

The bonus material is freakin awesome. The two stories by Charlie Murphy are GOLD. "We fucked up mad bread..." :lol

wtf? seinfeld is much funnier.
I generally agree, but regardless, it is a little unfair considering Seinfeld costs more.

Bullshit. Chapelle had the balls to put the screws to Comedy Central last year to get one of the BEST TELEVISION DEALS EVER (I mean, we're talking like a Ray Charles type deal) and then he skips out on them? Fuck that. They have every right to fuckin tear Dave a new asshole, and if he don't come back, go Death Row and don't give him a god damn penny from anything he did while they paid the bills for his ass.

I'm sorry. I love Chapelle but lets be clear here... Comedy Central is the one getting totally fucked here. If it were Fox News or NBC or something, I wouldn't care, but this isn't exactly a network with money to just throw away.

Oh please. Chapelle is hardly a 'little guy' getting screwed by the 'evil corporation'. You wanna talk about capitalism fucking someone over? Lets look at the people making 5.25 an hour and being told that its enough to live off of. Calling Chapelle the little man is a fucking joke. "WELL HE'S ONLY WORTH A FEW MILLIONS AND THEY HAVE TONS SO HES LITTLE N U SHOULD FEEL BAD 4 HIM!"

Bullshit. The guys is fucking comedy central over, plain and simple. I don't care who has more money... its about right versus wrong.

:lol If you want to consider someone making $50 million a "little guy", go right ahead.

if somebody owed me $50 million, i could give two shits about hurting their feelings.

and the unaired Charlie Murphy True Hollywood stories on the bonus disc are fucking HILARIOUS!! I can't believe they didn't make skits out of some of the crazy shit Rick James did.

"DARKNESS...IM GONNA TAKE YOU INTO THE ABYSS NIGGA!"

I still havent watched anything on the season 2 DVD yet although I gotta check it out soon. And s2 is 10x as funny as s1.. sorry, but the Niggar family sketch alone is better than everything from s1 save Clayton Bigsby, and it's real close to topping that.

What? Regardless of how much Chappelle is screwing Comedy Central, he's still a valuable partner, and mocking his situation might not be the smartest choice to make. I'm certainly not saying he doesn't deserve it, but let's be real, from a purely business sense, what good does it do to potentially piss him off any more than he may already be?

Racial Draft was a horribly unfunny skit. The Rick James ep was funny on the first time viewing. No way it tops the black white supremacist, the piss on you videos, the original appearances of clayton bigsby, the and 1 mixtapes for tennis, baseball and bowling, etc. The list goes on and on.

Racial Draft unfunny? Man. I thought I knew you.

I'll see all your tired old ass shit from Season 1 and raise you Black Bush, Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories: Prince, Wayne Brady, The Niggar Family, and on and on and on.

The latin part of the racial draft made no sense. They were just damn lazy. The best parts of that skit were when the two white guys celebrated OJ being white again and Dave saying "Man, Fuck you guys." The skit didn't really suck. I'd give it a C.

The John Mayer skit sucked bad; I'm sorry. The only redeeming part about that was on season ender where Dave talks about that shitty "freestyle" scene. :lol

Also good:

"Goodbye fried rice, hello fried chicken!"

I don't know, for me both seasons are about equally good. There's stuff I couldn't live without in both, and both also have their lame moments (Popcopy from Season One, for example, was almost painfully unfunny IMO).

The extended Rick James skit was worth the price alone. The "I want more" skit had me balling.

"AAAAAAAAAAYEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! YA FUCKIN' PUSSIES!! COME OUT AND PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!" *RINGS DOORBELL*

That skit even now makes me laugh...

Any XM radio owners here? One of the rap channels uses that whole "Turn the music up, I can't hear it... uh.. I'm serious turn that shit up..ya heard!" as part of their channel intro... everytime I hear it I crack up.

The only thing about this DVD that disappointed me was that I didn't get to see the titties on that fine lass in the sketch with John Mayer. She probalby had some tape or whatever covering her nipples like the chicks in the Rick James skit. Still, those looked like some fine-ass titties.
