China is building or about to begin building 148 GW of coal-fired electricity capacity

148 GW of coal-fired capacity is being built or about to begin construction in China. That's as much coal-fired capacity as the whole of the European Union.

China, India, and ASEAN countries will more than negate any effect the US and Europe will have on CO2 emissions.

Edit: I was evidently wrong about the below statements.
Plus, the EIA is saying that greenhouse gas emissions in general, including methane, have not significantly reduced and are on the rise in the US. Rising methane emissions in the US from flaring natural gas and using storage.

Greta to continue not caring, on her way to scold the next first world country.

For something a little less hot-take, I hope that environmental responsibility begins to be something looked at globally, rather than my example. It's difficult to take people badgering the west seriously, when, as you pointed out, the other countries are so bad, that we almost can't make a difference.

That's why carbon sequestration is the future for advanced nations: no matter how you cut your own emissions, developing countries and "we don't give a shit" countries are going to pump carbon into the air anyway.

Where is the EIA info about the US? I didn't see that in the reuters article. I'd be skeptical of that claim, unless it was covering a conveniently selected date range. US emissions have dropped sharply in the last few years as coal plants are decommissioned in favor of natural gas.

You're right. I might have misremembered. I'll strike that out. These are the EPA figures:

Guess china doesn't give a fuck about the environment after all.

Guess trump was right on china only wanting to push it forwards to tank the western markets.

Hows that nuclear fusion coming along lads? could really do with some good news on that.
We don't need it, we just need to stop being dumb and approve of LFTR. Won't happen tho since we have two massive lobbies pushing lies against it.
