Honestly I came into the thread because I'm not spending xmas with anyone, and would like to be able to see other people appriciate this time of year.

It's as close as spending time with family or friends I'll have for xmas sadly.

Nah, it's ok man I'm old enough to be ok with it. I really appreciate it, but it's no big deal anymore, as I've spent the last 5 alone anyway.

I had a screwed up family growing up, and I'm honestly much better off without them, besides my girl will be back soon enough.
She went to Hawaii with her niece and son to sort of bring Xmas to her brother and sister in law since they have not been able to make it to mainland the last 5years.

BTW: enjoy Houston, as much as you may dislike it, it's an awesome improvment over La.
Thankfully my girl told me a few days ago when I brought it up that she would be willing to relocate if I wanted to

Sure we would spend the day together, but its different when you live with the person. We have our first tree together, bought our first ornament together which happens to be one of those First Christmas ornaments with the year on it and everything. Yep, I took 2 years of photography back in high school, so i know a lil bit, but then again that was like 6-7 years ago, I might have to brush up, and get up to speed with digital. Although the digital SLR's should be fairly similar to the manual SLR's I would think. Hmm, who knows? I guess I'll find out when I cop one in a few months.
