Christopher Dring: Call of Duty Black Ops 7 had a smaller UK retail (physical) launch than Battlefield 6, 61% down when compared to Black Ops 6

I hate to be that guy, but really, who buys Call of Duty physical editions? Is there even anything on those discs.

I am all for game preservation but even the campaign is online this time.

They are essentially game key cards at this point.

So why is it also selling less on PC?

When the entire Xbox division depends on this game performing, and literally everyone hates it, two things need to happen:

1. Slow down the release schedule for this franchise.
2. Increase the workforce (cuz AI ain't saving shit at this point, in fact; relying on AI will be counterproductive and damaging -as we have seen-)

1. ain't gonna happen.
2. They will have to do it at the expense of everything else. It's the only way if they want to keep pumping up COD every year.

brah. It's going to be glorious to see how MS/XBox makes COD implode once and for all.

Halo was on par with CoD at some point.

Microsoft are experts at wasting popular FPS franchises.

He even kinda looks a little like a fat, Italian American Phil Spencer.

MS buying CoD way past its peak and watching it decreasing in popularity after being one of the biggest things ever reminds me of MS buying Nokia way past its peak and watching it decreasing in popularity after being one of the biggest phone makers ever
Luckily they still have king and blizzard which still makes a shit ton of money. You know its bad though when a company has no numbers to tout.

How is it possible for them not to tout ANY Call of Duty numbers at this point? It's freaking Call Of Duty!

Prob everything is down across the board. Nothing they can use to paint a positive picture besides something that's not measurable such as being proud and thanking the community. Sad that they cant even tout the vague engagement stat.

Cod is cyclical. Just wait for Modern Warfare 2 (2027).

I actually wasn't arguing that, I was kind of surprised that anybody would buy the physical version.

Treyarch really fumbled the launch of BLOPS 7 and had bad luck with DICE actually getting their act together and releasing a great game in Battlefield 6.

I will say that the move away from SBMM is really going to hurt the game. The few games of open playlist I played reminded me why I really disliked the old COD with a couple of people dominating every lobby.

If they did not have the option of a SBMM list I would be done with the game for the year, which would be especially easy since I have already logged about 30 hours in Battlefield and am loving it.

As long as they continue to support SBMM I will stick around but if they ax it I am done with the game outside of zombies.

They should learn from Xdefiant's collapse due to terrible player experience for people like myself who play 5 or 6 hours a week when lucky, then got destroyed when going on Xdefiant.

Have you ever installed a COD game while having a previous COD installed , it's just a reconfiguration of the files with few new assets, barely 10gb increase with all games installed

Always the best way, too many in this industry take the consumers purchase intentions for granted they will buy regardless.

It's a stale, predictable IP imo
