Story
My name is Ryo Saeba, also known as City Hunter. In this line of work, I'm a well-known professional "sweeper."
I take on all kinds of jobs, from protecting beautiful women to assassinations. In other words, I'm a cleaner who gets rid of the scum of the city. That means I live a life constantly on the edge. My partner, Kaori, is the younger sister of my deceased best friend, but she never brings in any decent jobs.
So, what kind of work is waiting for me today?

Love the aesthetic, is the game actually fun? It looks really hard based on that video. Like old NES game hard.

$25? Good fucking luck. I get the novelty of having this game officially released in English, but as far as I've ever heard, this is basically a fun, unremarkable action platformer. That's it. I can't imagine them finding much of an audience for this thing.

I'd recommend that people buy one of the City Hunter blu-ray sets instead, frankly.

In Italy at the time the anime and manga were a huge success but who asked for a remaster of a practically unknown game for 25 euros?

I've had City Hunter for PC Engine since the early 90s and always wanted to play in English so got the PS5 version last week. The enhanced version appears to be minor changes, such as being able to swap directions when crouched making shooting a little easier. Apart from that I haven't noticed anything significant from the original. The hard version has the enemies needing more shots to kill.

It's OK for a 35 year old retro game but definitely not worth £20. It would've been fine at £5 to £7.

Was okay.

Yeah, the price is a bit baffling.

Just download a PC-Engine emulator and try it yourself.

You can try it on Emulator first maybe? i played on emulator years ago, it's kinda fun akin to early 90s shooter
Yes guys, I could do that.

But 1), the PC-Engine version is Japanese only.
And 2), on a discussion forum, it would be nice to have some comments from people who actually played a game, instead of getting replies like "just go download it and play it yourself". No offense, but this isn't like I'm asking for the meaning of a word and people rightly telling me "just Google it, bro".

i once played it, but it's years ago and I forgot much about game.
i saw in fan translation site, few days before the announcement I think.
i will try it and might be come here soon

Edit:
It's like "rolling thunder" also bit reminds me to Sunsoft Robocop 1 in NES era.
You can enter the door, duck to shoot, arcadey games.

Back in the day I was a fan of TM Network so I discovered the anime because of the soundtrack and was pleasantly surprised. Always loved the 80s drawing style (Bubblegum Crisis, Patlabor, Dominion Tank Police, Macross, Project A-Ko, Kimagure Orange Road, etc, etc). Price is steep, though, will wait for a discount.

Yeah, 80s anime had really, really good music, but City Hunter in particular has an insane number of insert songs, and almost all of them are absolute bangers.
Thanks to Tatsumi Yano, the city-pop genius who made City Hunter's music so iconic.

It'S been forever since I've seen City Hunter anime. I still have several of the albums of music from the series. Really good stuff.
They are playing a track in that video.

You have the same collections as me.
I've got a bunch of the Orange Road OST. Including image albums. Just pure 80's sound from Japanese radio at the time used in the Anime.
