Just finished watching this on DVD, and damn it's good. I wish I saw it in theaters.

The Jude Law/Clive Owen cyber scene is :lol :lol :lol you need to see it to get the funny.

Unfortunately the DVD is a Superbit, which means the only thing on it are trailers and a music video NOTHING ELSE. Just the movie, Dolby Digital and DTS soundtracks. But, if you haven't seen it; the disc is worth a rent. Thankfully they did encode the video at a high bitrate so it's about perfect. It actually looks really good.

The movie is also just more proof that Clive Owen MUST BE BOND:
"Thank you for your honesty...Now fuck off and die!

I agree, loved the film. This was one of the few movies that Julia Roberts has been in were i didnt want to throw up when she was on screen.

I went to this movie with my special lady friend. It was pretty depressing, and the breakup scene between Clive Owen & Julia Roberts was one of the most uncomfortable thngs I've ever had to watch. Still a lovely movie, not exactly a "date" movie though.

I saw it with my mommy.

Great movie.

Color me surprised...and this is just my opinion but...

I saw Closer for the first time a week ago and it will be the last. Beyond the cybersex scene there isn't a moment worth watching throughout the course of this film (though I chuckled at the line "because I'm a fucking caveman), and it lacks any redeeming qualities (until, of course, the credits roll). I was honestly dying for this film to end. The dialogue was completely forced when it wasn't simply trite, and I cringed through at least a third of the film...

Closer is the worst two hours I've spent in front of a screen in awhile...I'm so surprised by all the positive remarks!

Saw this yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised by it.

I thought the most powerful scene was when Clive Owen's character was talking to Naltalie Portman in the strip club. To bad they had to cut the nudity out of this :)

TOO BAD?!?!? ITS FUCKING CRIMINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nichols had Natalie Portman doing full frontal nudity. HE FILMED IT! THEN HE CUT IT!

If that isnt a crime against heterosexuality... no HUMANITY... I dont know what is.

Any chance of that making it onto an Unrated Cut or something? :(

Nah, they decided it had no artistic merit and would detract. And all the positive reviews have proved they don't need to add the scene.

I caught this in theaters and was kind of disappointed upon leaving, but as the dvd release approached I really wanted to see it again for some reason. Watched it the other night and thought it was really great. Some of the editing bothered me, but it didn't drag at all the second time through and I thought it was really good.

I really liked this movie (I'm a sucker for dialogue like that - the whole movie was back and forth). The last scene between Portman and Law was a little weak but other than that it was great. And Clive Owen was awesome.

Saw it with my sister and wife when it first came out. HORRIBLE movie. I've never been so anxious for a movie to end in my life.

I thought this thread was going to be about Joy Division...
