CNN: IRS shares information with special counsel in Russia probe

CNN

The IRS is now sharing information with special counsel Robert Mueller about key Trump campaign officials, after the two entities clashed this summer over both the scope of the investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election and a raid on former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's home, people briefed on the matter tell CNN.

Part of the concern centered on the far-reaching and broad requests from Mueller's team. In the case of Manafort, Mueller's investigators are reaching back 11 years as they investigate possible tax and financial crimes, according to search warrant documents. Mueller is bound by a written order issued by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in May which allows the special counsel to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation."

Tax returns?

Lets see them tax returns. I'm sure Mueller has them and looked them over and is screaming in horror all Trump has done.

Wonder if any of this is about Trumps tax returns/Trumps info at all, in addition to Manafort/other officials.

Interesting development

Has nothing to do (personally) with Trump at this stage, so no.

Actually the answer is we DON'T know. However:
It is not clear whether the special counsel has asked for or obtained Trump's tax returns. Sources say if Mueller's office does have Trump's returns, then Rosenstein, who oversees the probe, likely would have needed to sign off, given the sensitivity surrounding the matter.
You know Mueller must have asked for them. Did Rosenstein say no? I'd bet he didn't. Otherwise why even bother appointing a SC in the first place.

Pretty important thing to note. I hope he's got em (Mueller).

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Also remember:

Tax returns can be used in state charges. As in, "non-pardonable state charges." I think you can safely assume New York's AG will be involved in this somehow as well.

I bet hes doing everything extremely by the book, dotting every i and crossing every T. He may not have trumps directly, yet, but is building a solid foundation to get them.

After all, he wouldn't want something tossed and the case to crumble due to a procedural issue. And you can damn well bet Trumps lawyers are looking for one.

I cannot imagine a scenario where the IRS wouldn't hand over Trump's returns to Mueller.

So I hope it's happening

Sucks at poetry
I wonder what's going to do Trump in in the end. Collusion? Seems doubtful, but who knows. Financial crimes worthy of impeachment? No doubt there are some, but will it be enough? Obstruction of justice? Even if they make a case for it, can the President be indicted? Will Republicans care? I wonder if Trump will have pissed off enough aides and congressional staffers come court time that they'll unify against him. Wonder if Trump will try to start a war before then to keep himself in power.
