With all due respect, if I were a band on that list, I would take your dislike to be a pretty strong sign that I was making great music.

coldplay -- i could go without some of their leftist leanings, but an amazing band worth seeing.
weezer -- Weezer is the most important alt+rock band of the 90s. Not to discount bands like Nirvana, etc. but Weezer has influenced everything from the emo movement, to pop punk, to the deftones. Ive seen them live 3 times, and they never fail to impress. Sing along and have a good time.
chemical brothers -- saw their DJ set at Ultra last year and I was no impressed, but a Live PA may be an entirely different story. They are in osaka in 2 weeks and I might have to check them out.
keane -- not a band i know much about, but a band that has a lot of buzz and id watch
rilo kiley -- i liked them a while back,
armin van buuren -- his brand of trance is getting a bit thin, but armin is still a top class DJ worth listening to. Especially if he strays away from his A State of Trance sound.
fantomas -- an amazing band worthy of a great deal of respect.
hernan cattaneo -- I had a good time speaking with Hernan and watching him mix last year at Underlounge in Osaka. The man is down to earth and his mastery of progressive house puts him beyond sasha in my book. His rocket shot up in the DJ mag 100 confirms this to me. He will indeed put armin van buuren to shame.
josh wink -- a pioneer, and a DJ that should never be missed.

may 1 sunday

nine inch nails -- If you have never seen them live, it is the most awe-inspiring live band around.
new order -- New Order and Nine Inch Nails... ffs
prodigy -- wait... New Order, Nine Inch Nails and Prodigy....... really now, that is stupid.
junkie xl -- an amazing live performer. Definetely the best act of Ultra Festival 04.

I hate asking stupid questions, but what exactly is Coachella? And more importantly, where is it? I couldn't find info on the site and I don't know if that's a FireFox thing or because I'm the most clueless person in this thread.

fart

Savant
it's a festival style 2-day concert in coachella, ca (middle of buttfuck nowhere) that costs a ton but attracts some pretty hot talent

Ahh, thanks. Now that I look at a map of CA, I drove through Coachella on the way to E3 last year. Definitely in the middle of nowhere.

I am pleased. not as pleased as last year, but pleased nonetheless. I've heard coldplay is good live, but I may vote to leave early on saturday. never seen NiN before, so that'll be cool.

...actually, there's a lot on sunday that I've never even heard of.

Roni Size? interesting. I've heard his stuff with Reprazent and that was awesome (bought the New Forms album based on artwork alone - I was pleasantly surprised) but I've yet to hear any of his solo stuff. Is it any good?

Wilco, Blackstar, Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes, K-os, The Blood Brothers, Arcade Fire and a few others make it a decent lineup, but it's missing something. Switch out Coldplay for Radiohead and get something like Bowie in there and I'd consider it. Maybe Field Day will surprise me and bring something like this close to home.

Eh, nothing too special. There are a handful of artists I'd like to see, but I'm blowing all my money on the Nookicky concert in NYC. I can't wait to meet the band :D

Pretty damn good, but not enough to make me go to CA. Even if it was that good I probably wouldn't be able to make it.

Is Fantomas going to kick off a new tour?

this year i'll concentrate on a lot of the obsecure bands and not focus my attention on the main stage so i wouldn't be all the way in the back when radiohead and pixies comes on. i did get to the railings last year so i was proud of that but i felt i missed out on a lot of good shit. i guess i'll be going on sunday. i always do need an excuse to visit one of my close friends in ca.

Yeah its pretty outstanding. Cant wait for the next album, hopefully this year....

The new record comes out April 4th in the UK, it's called Open Season. I've heard it's "out," though.

I can't verify if it's actually out or not, I know promo copies are about, though. I just want to hear it really, really badly. I don't know if I'll import or not. I jacked up my copy of The Decline... so maybe I'll order the vinyl from the UK with the new record? I wonder if the US release will have bonus tracks. Why isn't this shit told to us before it comes out?!

BTW, Lambtron: Have you ever listened to Go!Go!7188? Pretty cool Japanese rock trio.
No, I haven't. I'll have to check it out. I need more Boredoms & Melt-Banana & Polysics

RedDwarf

Smegging smeg of a smeg!
Since I'll never make it to the show it doesn't matter much, but I'd dig the following:

Day One:
Bauhaus
Cocteau twins
Chemical brothers
Mercury Rev
The Kills

Day Two:

Nine Inch Nails
New Order
Gang of Four (who's in the line up?!)
Prodigy
Roni Size
Junkie XL
Sixtoo
Stereophonics
The Futureheads

Not bad overall, I can't imagine sitting through that many bands in a day anyways.
