Comcast looking to get into gaming

Roberts may have tipped his hand last year when he briefly explored a deal involving video game company Electronic Arts Inc., home of popular titles like Madden NFL and Star Wars. Comcast followers suspect he would still like to add that kind of highly lucrative content to his empire, possibly in deals with companies like Nintendo Co., Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. or even Activision Blizzard Inc. if Microsoft Corp.'s planned takeover fails.

The company still pushing data caps in 2023 wants your games now.

Title thread made it seem that they want to buy those companies, but the text impliea that it could simply be about deals, which could turn out to be anything, including weird ass marketing campaigns that we see now and again.

Regardless, Nintendo will never be bought by anyone really, so there's nothing to worry about.

They tried to merge with EA. They're out for the IPs.

People who are happy about Activision deal, here is the nightmare for you guys.

This is the result of that purchase. Companies like Comcast will try to get in to gaming and buy your favorite publishers.

Fk them.

Clickbait title. Article says "companies like". Does not saying they are specifically looking at those titles. And it speculation at best.

Nintendo should dismantle Comcast and melt the pieces of it into a real life Triforce, and then break it apart and spread the pieces in different parts of the world, so that gaming companies like EA, Take 2, Sony and Microsoft, can go on a treasure hunt together and find these pieces, and then merge them into their own business.

Dear Comcast,
Fuck off.
Signed,

It's opposite. You don't want MS to buy Activision? Then Comcast or other company like that will buy it.

No, I don't want any of these shit to buy them.
If MS buys Activision, those companies will buy the remaining studios.
Either option isn't great for us.

Didnt they have a chance to buy EA not but a year ago? Or was it they were trying to sell NBC Universal to EA?

Comcast, who owns NBC Universal, tried to merge that division with EA, but the deal fell through. Comcast needs new IPs to exploit create new opportunities in steaming, movies, and TV.

Comcast already has a deal with Nintendo. They made the Mario movie and have Nintendo in their theme parks. Again, they want to OWN the IPs.
Comcast owns Universal? Didn't know.

It just goes to show that this might be the kind of deals that they are looking for. And considering that I trust Nintendo to not take a shitty deal, I don't see the issue.
