Need to call and ask the store to pull Serenity for me in case I can't make it.

Seems like a very light week, does anyone know when Street Fighter is supposed to come off of hiatus?

ABOUT FUCKING TIME!

Funny story. On Friday I was $660 richer. On Tuesday I'm $620 poorer. >:(

Fucking bills.

Anyhow, the comic geek said this was coming in this week when I asked him last week and picked up some shitty 50¢ comics (But that fucker drawing that shitty Outsiders book can draw his ass off). So hopefully my PT job paycheck will provide enough green to subsidize the fuckin' wanking materials. >:|

GRAR GRRR GRRRR GRAR GRRRR!

Hey, at least there was a luuuurvly Serena Williams ad in USA today to tide me over. Got Milk? OH YES I DO!

SUPERMAN #221 $2.50
HOUSE OF M #6 (OF 8) $2.99
MARVEL TEAM-UP #12 $2.99
UNCANNY X-MEN #464 $2.50
D&D EBERRON EXPLORERS HANDBOOK HC $29.95

Fortunately the art of Ghost Rider cooled my heels. I'll wait for the trade. It's not awful, I just found everything that wasn't Ghost Rider in the book to be sorta fugly. The artist reminds me a bit of Joe Linsner, only not.

But I did snag Shining Knight #3 out of the 50¢ box. I snagged the first two issues from said box last week and I'm kind of enjoying it. It's not the best thing I've read, but it goes nicely with a Hammerfall CD and I kind of dig the Barry Windsor Smith looking art.

Rumble Roses art book will be mine this weekend. :D

So, who read The Manhattan Guardian #4?

Let's just say, this was far and away, the best Seven Soldiers issue yet (with the exception of SS #0). A lot of things get pulled together, we get another big shocker, and more background on the Sheeda and theme of seven. Despite a genius-level baby and high flying adventures, the issue was also incredibly dark. One particular page was a bit shocking...

Anyways, Guardian #4 was the best book of the week. Villains United was pretty good too; as the return of a very interesting character probably gave a lot of DCU geeks hard-ons.

Are you telling me all these books are somehow related?

God damned stupid comic book companies. >:|

I had to pass on Manhattan Guardian in the 50¢ bin because:

- I'm fucking sick and tired of New York cock worship.
- That costume is like bad fuckin' cosplay. :X

There's only so much the Grant Morrison goggles can achieve.

Where can I find out more about The Bulleteer? At least see the character design. With a name like The Bulleteer, how can you fuckin' go wrong?! HOW?!

Nice, did anyone else read the Ghost Rider preview nomo posted? It seems that Ennis is going to have the same effect on Johnny Blaze that he had on old Franky Castle.

Come on people, where's the Ghost Rider impressions already?!?!

I can't get to the store until Saturday, so let's get those reviews!!

Please? :D

Yup, all of the Seven Soldiers books are related. Seven mini-series', four issues a piece, plus Seven Soldiers #0 & #1. This is Grant Morrison's 30 issue mega series.

Of the bunch of Seven Soldiers mini-series (four have been released so far; two are complete, the other two aren't) Guardian has been the strongest. I'd say Shining Knight has probably been the weakest. Each of the minis play out like they've been written by completely different writers - it's pretty amazing how Morrison can employ all of these genres and weave them together for use in his universe.

More information here if you want a good idea of exactly what Seven Soldiers is. (SPOILER WARNING at the link, BTW).

I actually left Ghost Rider #1 at the shop. From what I saw during my brief flip-thru, there certainly wasn't a lot of Ghost Rider in the comic. However, I might go back and pick it up next week based on the strength of some online reviews.

I haven't read the X-Men in YEARS. Is it worth getting back into?
Yes. However, Uncanny X-Men wouldn't be the best title to pursue.

If you want good X-Men stories, start with Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men, which went from issues #114-154. After that, move onto Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men, which has just finished it's first "season," so to speak. Hardcover and paperback collections of the said titles are widely available.

Nah, skip that. Go with Ultimate X-Men, it's a helluva lot easier than trying to catch up with the 616 goings-on.

so, spoilers for villains united#5
PARIAH IS BACK! holy shit! so does the destruction of a world? we know that thanagar was destroyed, rann will probably buy it as well. but what about earth? so many more questions now...

I'd say Shining Knight has probably been the weakest.

Yeah, conceptually I dig it; having a knight with old world morals and values running around beating ass - that's totally metal.

Unfortunately there's too much meandering between the awesome and I can't be fucking bothered to buy six million fucking shitty comics to get the jist of the one god damned funnybook I want to read. It's 1994 all over again! Yay! Fuck you Grant Morrison.

Picked up my Rumble Roses book. Fap fap fap

Got 10% off for pre-ordering it. ROX! Fap fap fap

Also snagged that 25¢ Vampirella book just because I felt like Mr. Moneybags. Oh yeah 25¢!
