So I guess as Coke and Pepsi launched low-carb drinks, Dr. Pepper decided to make the formula sweeter. I saw a big truck today displaying the new drink. Dunno what it tastes like yet.

I was paid 75 dollars to taste test this stuff for 2 hours. With different color, (some red, like code red. Some were cola brown) and tastes. I have to say, it was damn good. Let it be noted though, that I like dr. Pepper, as well as cherry and vanilla coke.

That's how I felt going into the taste test, but it was suprisingly good. I've gotten pretty lucky with the product testing. I also tested those quesadillas from taco bell. Also very good.

No DP is it's own company. In some areas though DP doesn't have the market share to justify it's own plant and sales force so they will allow Coke or Pepsi to produce and market their products.

Amen! I hope Canada gets this pronto.....we aren't as good as you guys at getting new drinks, plus our average store stock isn't as large. Hell...we never got stuff like diet cherry coke and you can't find cherry coke or wild cherry pepsi anywhere in T.O these days. We never got cherry 7up either Canada sucks for soft drinks

well dr. pepper i thought already had some dark cherry flavor, so its more of a more cherry'd up version of dr.pepper with vanilla too?

red fusion i thought was interesting, as it was dr. pepper with some fruit flavors added, like cherry, .strawberry ,etc.

When I tasted Mr. Pibb followed by Pibb Xtra, I tasted no discernable difference. I think they just threw in some xTrEmE lettering and called it new.

I agree I can't tell the difference between the two either. Now that I think about it, Xtra may have more caffeen in it. That's may be what the Xtra is in reference too.

the "xtra" was just for ExTrEMEEME marketing..

they were doing a flavor change because mr. pibb sales were stagnant or dropping; and they decided to change the name/marketing associated with it at the same time...

so it went from mr. pibb to pibb xtra, there is no more caffeine, nor are the flavors the same.. i was a big mr. pibb fan back in the day and i tried many mr. pibbs and pibb xtras back to back, pibb xtra tastes more like dr. pepper..
