Leaving for the states tomorrow for a 2 week holiday. New York being the first stop followed by LA.

What are the must see sites/attractions that I should see while there?

And the Sony PSP's are they hard to find in stores in NY/LA? Is sony gonna drop the price of the value pack anytime soon? (E3)

Cheers...

:lol My thoughts exactly!

Prince Akeem: I am Akeem.
Lisa McDowell: It's nice to meet you, Akeem.
Prince Akeem: I have recently been placed in charge of garbage. Do you have any that needs to be disposed of?
Lisa McDowell: No. It's totally empty.
Prince Akeem: When it fills up, call me. I will take it out most urgently.
Lisa McDowell: That's good to know.
Prince Akeem: When you think of garbage, think of Akeem.

And not to derail this thread, Umm go visit all of the Best Buys / Target / Circuit City / if you're looking for PSP stuff. I'm sure they're available everywhere, and there's no way Sony's going to announce a price drop this fast! (Unless Nintendo does it with their NDS)

All of the PSP's that are on the shelves now don't have Spiderman 2. I guess they've shipped their first million already.

If you really want the movie, I suggest you goto some small mom & pop type store and check their. They might have the first batch of PSP's in stock, but I'm thinking that's really unlikely.

I was at my local Wal-Mart a while ago, and the case was crammed with launch PSPs (Spider-Man 2 included). It depends on where you live, I live right outside of Memphis.

sweet.. I'll visit mom and pop's and specitally stores. Cant find it no biggie.

Sony havent brought out a revised model yet have they? 1002 or something is the lastest?

New Orleans looks nice... Gonna try to go there. Mango's + Pizzas.. whoo...

Hey, you're just in time for E3 in L.A. While you're there, check out the Santa Monica beach/pier, Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Strip, Beverly Hills (Rodeo Drive, etc), Getty Center Museum, and other tourist spots.

A night or two in Las Vegas would be well worth your time, it's only 4 1/2 hours drive from L.A. in good traffic.

I'd make a trip to see the Grand Canyon since you're comming out west anyway and then head on up to Vegas after the sight seeing and then back to LA or where ever. The Grand Canyon is a must see, one of the seven wonders of the world and all.

I'll be at E3 :)

Only downfall of LA is having 3 days to see things with the other 3 being E3.

So far im gonna fit in Universal Studios (must see Terminator 2 3D), Beverly Hills, Walk of Fame, see Episode 3 with non Australians :D. Any good shopping malls that really stand out ? My Hotel is the Holiday Inn Hollywood.

Vega's ill vist next time im in town...

Grand Canyon looks beautiful.. How far is it from LA?

I've been to new york and I just walked around for a while. I had a suit on cause I was there for a conference. Tourists kept on coming up and asking me where things were and I'd be just a clueless as they were.

Go to the wax museum. Never went in but I wanted to.

Universal Studios...ugh. I tend to dislike the obviously-made-for-tourist locations, but your mileage may vary.

If I only had three days to kill in the Los Angeles area, I might propose these destinations:

1) The Getty Center. Admission is free, and it's a world-class museum. The buildings themselves are art, and you get a great view of Los Angeles from the hill.

2) Santa Monica Pier/Third Street Promenade. It's a great place to walk around, peoplewatch, do some shopping, and get lunch during the day.

3) Hermosa Beach Pier. If you're looking to check out some bona fide L.A. hotties at the beach, Hermosa Beach is the place to go. At night, the pier is the place to be for nightlife -- there are multiple clubs and restaurants to check out if you're 21+.

4) Six Flags Magic Mountain. I dunno what the rollercoaster situation is in Australia, but Six Flags kicks ASS. There are some unique and impressive coasters there that you won't forget. It's a bit of a drive out of Los Angeles (maybe 45 minutes or so?) up to Valencia, but it's a must-go if you're into thrill rides.

5) Dodger Stadium or Angel Stadium. If you're into baseball -- or just curious about it -- then try to catch a game while you're here. Although Dodger Stadium is allegedly an icon, Angel Stadium is more modern and comfortable. On the other hand, you can get a nice view of downtown at night after a Dodgers game, so your mileage may vary.

6) San Diego. Yeah, it's a 2.5 hour drive from Los Angeles to San Diego. But, if you can somehow justify spending a very long day for a there-and-back trip, you could check out the San Diego Zoo (OMG amazing), catch dinner in the Gaslamp District, and then head home. SD >>>> LA

New Orleans is probably my favorite city in the country. It still has a great deal of personality, the people are friendly, and the food is wonderful. I live in Atlanta, which I suggest you avoid if at all possible, although I'm sure you'll pass through our airport at some point.

Make sure you eat some etouffe in N'Awlins. Excellent pecan pie and bread pudding are available just about everywhere there, and I also love the po' boys and crawfish pizza. The French Quarter has great food and interesting art everywhere. There's a cool little museum with the history of New Orleans right by the cathedral (St. Louis) on Jackson Square.

I'll be up there this weekend. I seriously can't et enough of this city. I'm from Gary, Indiana and most of my family in the midwest lives in Gary or Chicago's south side. Don't forget the little spots like Navy Pier, the Water Tower, and the 'House of Blues'. I love the city but I could NEVR live there. Traffic, cost of living, infrastructure, and city politics. But damn I love the town. I go there at least 4 or 5 times a year. Which reminds me it's time for a Marshall Fields run. There jsut isn't a good selectin of high end clothing here in central Indiana. These Hooisers have no sense of style, but I digress.

Also if you go to Chcago you have to check out the Sears Tower, and grab some Uno's pizza.
