OMG DS>PSP for more third party support!

Nintendogs is a game, it's a simulator game. Electroplankton is not.

You're missing the umd movies for non-games for the psp.

I'm surprised that the DS has more support so far.

Is Age of Empires ACTUALLY confirmed for release though? Anywhere? I know it was listed on that one DVD site..

And I hadn't realized Secret of Mana was scheduled for release on the DS. F-yeah!

koam said:

Both aren't games according to Nintendo.

koam said:

UMD Video isn't PSP specific, that's why I'm not bothering.

koam said:

Well, that tends to one of the perks in being market leader. :P

I'm counting retail lists as official. AOE wasn't the only game revealed either, all of Majesco's 2005 lineup across platforms was leaked.

Biglesworth23 said:

It is, though we don't know if it's a new game or not yet. My money's on a Secret of Mana remake (Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu 2).

koam said:

I'm actually more surprised by how much support PSP has gathered so far. As jarrod said, Nintendo are market-leaders after all. I mean, I can't really see all developers suddenly jumping ships in favour of the new and unproven contender PSP on a market that's been ruled with iron-hand by Nintendo for many years.

Heh, man that PSP list is light on titles i actually care about. Sadly i'll still be whoring myself on the 24th and picking one up. While many of the titles may appeal to other folks, it looks like ass to me outside of maybe 5 titles. Good thing so many good home console games are coming out that i should be more than occupied through the end of the year :lol.

theres just about the right amount of processing power and memory to do starcraft great justice, plus wireless 800.12 or whatever doesn't have the problems 56k suffers with on wi.fi also theres bigger band-width without IP brozer taking up so much, which means a dedicated free online nintendo service would be quite fast.

802.11. 802.11b, in this case.

And Big Mutha Truckers is coming to the DS? AWESOME.

According to Wal-Mart.com, yes, Big Mutha Truckers is comign to the DS.

It is, though we don't know if it's a new game or not yet. My money's on a Secret of Mana remake (Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu 2).

I don'r think so. When NOA confirmed the US 3rd party line up last summer, the Square Enix list was as follows:

----------------------------------------------------------
A new story of Secret of Mana
A new story of Slime Morimori Dragon Quest
Dragon Quest Monsters series
Egg Monster Heroes
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series
----------------------------------------------------------

We now know Slime Morimori is a new game, it stands to reason the new Seiken Densetsu will be too.

I want:

Vandal Hearts DS
Final Fantasy III DS
Advance Wars DS
Castlevania DS
Mystical Ninja DS

None of them come out until Fall this year if they even have a release date announced at all. :( Looks like its GBA games until then.

Don't put too much stock into what NOA says, they likely don't know any more than we do. Seiken Densetsu was concieved as a trilogy and the first part was just remade on GBA.... I think there's a very good chance the new DS game will follow and be a remake of SD2.

Oh and lists updated with new UbiSoft stuff. :)

but handheld GBA marlet was mostly dominated by Nintendo games.

A Sony handheld is the possibility for 3rd parties of selling games without the fear of being overshadowed by Nintnedo own release schedule.

PSP has over 225 games planned already.

http://users.ign.com/my/sb?nuaction...eSearch=-1&pageID=2003&&platformSearch=567173

The list includes 15 movies as well.

I would like to see how many games DS has using IGNs listing because it seems IGN lists anything that is even remotely mentioned.

HOWEVER, jarrod did make some noteworthy oversights.

Burnout is announced for PSP.
Everquest is announced for PSP.
4 EA titles not yet revealed are in the works.

That's just a few.

Monorojo said:

This thread no longer has any cred.

I must admit, there are some pretty serious oversights.

According to the IGN DS list, there are about 179 games announced (and for a total of like 181 with Katamari Damacy DS and Shogun RTS which haven't been added yet).

Also, jarrod is missing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire PSP.

I've said it before, jarrod's lists and information are always filled with inaccuracies and stuff. Normally I would say that we should just let him have his fun listing stuff and not bother him but he likes to jump on other people's lists too so I say it's fair game now. :lol

You're an inaccuracy.

Actually there aren't. Legend of Mana is a spinoff. :)

I'm only using games with a confirmed publisher revealed through "offical" channels (so no rumors or unofficial confirmations or developer only projects). Burnout PSP is coming but so far we've only Alex Ward's word for it, well really only his implication iirc. Everquest is 100% rumor right now too (as are SOCOM, Activision Anthology and quite a few others IGN has listed).

If something's incorrect I'll always welcome some clairification. Knock yourself out. :)

I think you're stretching the term, imho, because it's basically 100% guaranteed that Everquest and Burnout are coming to PSP in some form. It IS 100% certain that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is.

Interestingly enough, EA did say it's working on 12 games for PSP. It just hasn't named what all those games are. So yes, at the very least you should put "5 as yet unrevealed PSP EA games."

shit the ds list just dumps on the PSP list! WHERE ARE THE FUCKING RPGS??? >_<

Persona?
Action RPG FFVII: Crisis Core?
Strategy RPG Makai Wars?
Level 5 unrevealed RPG?
Princess Crown?
Tales of Eternia?

Persona
Port

Action RPG FFVII: Crisis Core
Unknown plus it might suck (see the PS2 FF7 game)

Strategy RPG Makai Wars
Never seen or heard of it

Level 5 unrevealed RPG
Rumor nothing official

Princess Crown
Never heard of it

Tales of Eternia
Port beat it long time ago

All PSP has is Crisis Core, DS list far superior.

We don't know if it's a port. In actuality, it's probably a sequel to Persona 1/2.

Doom_Bringer said:

Ok so we should just assume all RPGs suck before they come out.

Doom_Bringer said:

It's a strategy RPG made by Nippon Ichi. It's a Disgaea/Phantom Brave type game.

Doom_Bringer said:

no, actually it's official and they even released a teaser poster for it.

Doom_Bringer said:
Princess Crown

While we don't know specifics, it's either a port or a sequel to a cult classic RPG from Saturn.

I don't think Persona for the PSP has been confirmed as a port one way or another. It is a series afterall, making another one is hardly out of the question. If it was announced, then I never heard that. It's even a possiblity that SMT DS is a port too, although I doubt it considering how often that series has been ported around.

Whatever Persona is, if it's announced for US release, I'm buying a PSP for it.

As for SMT DS, I've read that Konami publishes Atlus's work in Japan, but I assume it will have no affect on releases here in the US?
