Component --> DVI Adapter

I have Gamecube/Xbox/PS2, etc. as well as an Apple 23" HD Cinema Display. I'd like to be able to connect my various consoles via component cables to some kind of DVI box/adapter that I can then plug my LCD into.

I'm not sure what modes my LCD could handle, but I assume it could at least do 720p, maybe 1080i. Does any product like this exist? I see boxes all the time for Component --> VGA, but not Component --> DVI. Having to stick a VGA --> DVI adapter on one of those boxes would not only cost additional $$, but probably degrade the signal quality.

Ideas/Suggestions?

I don't think anything like that exists, at least not something for less than a $1,000. As far as I know, it's technically almost unfeasible to convert an analog component signal to a pure digital signal.

So I think my sister's philips plasma only accepts progressive scan through the VGA, so I take it I'd need a component > Vga adapter box/cable?

Sorry to hijack the thread, just felt I'd seize the opportunity. :lol

Component cable are analog, DVI is digital. A converter would be pretty complex (as far as converters go) and since you wouldn't gain any signal quality, I doubt anyone will make one. Seems easier to use VGA cables for the consoles and use a simple VGA switch instead. What you spend on the extra cables you'll most likely save on buying cheap PC switches anyway.

Some dvi ports (the dvi-i) support analog vga. Converting component to vga is certainly possible with all those vga boxes. Your apple doesn't have dvi-i though, it has dvi-d and only supports digital signals.
