I think we should allow political discussion in this forum. The Wind of Change has arrived. After the US election, freedom of speech is the trend again. All other platforms X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook have gotten rid of their censorship policy and have becoming more and more freedom of speech platform (except of course the communist-controlled, left-wing cesspit like reddit or retardera)

NeoGAF should capitalize on this trend. So much more to discuss since Trump inauguration that I'd like to discuss here, but can't. Allowing political discussion will also increase traffic to this forum. Can't have that purple gaming forum dominate the narratives with their shitty left-wing ideology

With freedom of speech, there's almost nothing to regulate (other than probably direct violence/threats) so it won't additional workloads to the mods team

so what say you mods?

There's no point in fracturing this community and bring it back the way it used to be. There are plenty of other places to talk about politics.

The mods can allow a subject with a bit of politics every now and then the way they do now, because it's a significant event in the world or in our society. That's fine. Ultimately politics is a divisive subject and it will always be. I think this community is fine the way it is now.

what community, there's barely any traffic in OT forum, because people have to side-stepping the socio-political subjects, which pretty much dominate everyday's lives nowadays. What subject or fields haven't been touched by the left-wing woke/DEI ideology that we have to combat everyday

I think the current way of allowing the release of some political viewpoints on GAF in indirect topics is working out quite well.

I don't this thread will last long but I think one of the big factor's to the nuking of the older politics section was that we had more people signing up to debate politics rather than to talk about games.

Honestly the better choice back then would have been to have had the Politics section be a hidden board that only had access to those given permission and after certain requirements were meant. At least that way we wouldn't have had others peeking in on what was being discussed and then having the need to sign up to tell us were wrong/right as well as members not being tempted into going and potentially getting banned for something they wouldn't have been banned to begin with had they not gone in.
