Cool easter eggs in games, what's your faves?

I always loved the naked chick eater egg in Naughty Dog's first game... It was some strat RPG for genesis but I forget the name.

Blood had so many easter eggs that it is not easy to list them. The grave of Eric Draven, lots of Lovecraft, Poe and Stephen King references, frozen Torrance in the maze, the masks of Jason and F. Krueger, the mangled corpse of Duke hanging from a chain... the whole game was a true homage to the horror genre.

Is there any way to run Blood (1) in XP? Or do you have to use DOSBOX or other such program?

On topic...my favorite is still the original warp zone in SMB...first time I heard about it and got to it...it was fucking cool as hell.

Shit...I've changed my mind...I can't believe how I forgot about Death Tank/Death Tank Zwei! I must've spent over 100 hours playing that with friends back then... I hated it when a few players spent all of their creds on carbomite every round...it was insane when they died... I remember the first person who was taken out -- the one with all of the stored carbomite -- and the screen went ballistic! Everyone was dead... 'Groovy!'

You can't run Blood on XP without somekind of DOS emulation :( that's why I preserve an old DOS rig.

Another cool easter egg: Elexis Sinclair from SiN masturbating in the jacuzzi. You can only see her from the janitor's secret place during the Elexis' State level :p

For me, it'd probably be the Konami Code (of course)...But this got my attention.

SA, Fark, and ShackNews are all in Doom 3...haha!

This is one of my new favorites:

...the handheld Scarab gun - a plasma rifle, hidden away on Metropolis, that fires Scarab bolts.

Now that's a hand-cannon. WOW

Keef the Thief?

I remember playing that on my Apple IIgs... some amusing stuff in there...

Doom II: Using the idspispopd cheat code to go 'into' the final boss, and blast away at Romero's face.

Viewtiful Joe: Take out a bomb, hold onto it, he starts humming the Mario Bros. theme.

The Monkey Island Games: A whole lot; the dude that explains the SCUMM engine to you, whenever they make a crack on Bobbin Threadbare and Loom. etc.

I always liked how the Blizzard characters in Starcraft and Warcraft would get pissed off if you kept clicking them. Also, the chicken attack in the Zelda games is cool.

When can you play "Snake's Nightmare" in MGS3?

Not Keef, which definitely came way before this Genesis game, but Rings Of Power. IIRC you could make the girl on the title screen show teh boobs.

I think one of the best ones was the hidden cheese in every level of perfect dark. Even carrington institute training level. Im not sure I ever found every one.

There's a chance to save right after Snake is captured in Groznyj Grad(torture scene). Save your game at that point and whenever you load that data you'll be in Snake's nightmare. This short game is only accessible by loading from that save data, so reset the game and try it out before you save over that file.

The pigs attack you in Wind Waker as well, feisty bastards.

Don't think this can be added as an easter egg but what the hell. Getting those very last few stars in Super Mario 64 in a duration of 2-3 hours because a friend of a friend told you that Yoshi was in the game only after you beat it "properly", flying up on the castle and being literally fisted by Yoshi without lube in a matter of seconds before he jumps off to impending doom. Jaws drop the ground, riots occur, etc. Of course it isn't a cool easter egg, but the pure fact that EAD literally tore the carpet out from under your feet after you tried so hard and failing miserably in the Clock level, it just makes it cool cause they are evil black-hearted wankers!

Oh yeah, and those that complain about Yoshi's limited appearence/abilities in Super Mario Sunshine obviously never met him in Super Mario 64.

Off the top of my head, the "hidden" Goron's in Wind Waker were cool. It was very shocking and awesome when I discovered them.
