Coolest looking attack

Yes it was awesome ... for the first time.

Unfortunately that move is repeated about 50 times before you actually kill him.

I so knew that was going to be supernova.

Anyway, I thought Squall's limit breaks(or whatever they were called) in FF8 were pretty awesome.

kim Kaphwan's Phoenix Flattener DM (where he beats the enemy down with kicks while giving Bruce Lee kiais)

K9999's too

Seriously though, omnislash is the best limitbreak still... quick, high damage, to the point.

I've always been a fan of Akuma's raging demon. The lights go out, but you always know somebody got seriously f*cked up :lol

As far as RPGs go, the Supernova's a cool move until about the thousandth time it's done on you and you've wasted an hour on watching summons (Knight of the Round summon falls in there too). Still cool to watch looking back though.

Supernova is definitely one of the best ones.

I really love most of the GBA Fire Emblem attack animations. Especially the assassin and swordmaster ones.

Bahamut definitely gets a nomination too.

Haha and some of the stuff in Ryu Ga Gotoku. Especially smashing a bicycle on a guy on the ground then jumping on the bike, smashing it to peices on top of the guy. :D

Supernova is a work of art. Even though it is incredibly long (how did they not think to add a "PRESS O TO SKIP" for that sequence), it is so magnificently detailed that I get giddy looking at it again.

The math in the beginning is particularly cool. Nice touch.

Unless that attack by Sephiroth means instant death, it sucks.

I've always liked:

Spiderman's moveset in Marvel Vs Capcom
Akira's Stun Palm of Doom
Vanessa's Crimson Lancer
Goh's Hiza'ate Oguruma
Hattori Hanzo's Mozu Otoshi
Hwoarang's Flying Eagle

Heh, I always thought Gilder's Gunslinger move in Skies of Arcadia Legends was looking very cool (even though the graphics were dated).

I could never watch the animation. I was too foucsed on hitting the R trigger when it was time. :lol

Any fatalities/stage fatalities in the MK series from MK 1 to MK 2. Damn people would cringe at the sight of getting their spine ripped out by Sub-Zero. Or the crazy Pit II stage where you'd see your character look up at you while he fell to his death...

Yeah I do remember Skies having some pretty cool special attacks.

Pirates Wrath was pretty awesome, I remember being excited when I saw it.

Hell yeah, Pirates Wrath rocks... especially since the attack the different based on what crew members you've recruited. Awesome awesome attack. My favorite.

Most of the reaction command attacks in Kingdom Hearts II are simply awesome, especially in the big boss battles.

Failing that, B. Jenet's An Oi Mademoiselle super (A, B, C quickly during Just Defend animation) from Garou - mad props for pulling it off and it looks retardedly sweet too. If I see your attack coming, you better believe you're gonna be eating shoe...

Heh good call on that one.

Agreed. It should have had at least had the effect of Fallen One from FF6, or wiped your entire party save for maybe one character, and left them with low HP. After an animation like that, I laughed at the low damage it did.

As for cool-looking attacks, Gungrave always struck me as incredibly stylish, even though the game lacks depth/length.

With all this dumb rpg supernova crap you're forgetting the stylish Resident Evil 4 moves:

Albert Wesker in The Mercenarys, his kick move and, when a foe is on his knee's kick move.
Dont know his name, but the guy who breaks necks in Re4'es mercenary.

And well yeah...Leon who's moves are all fucking awesome.

The various spells from Golden Axe (ARC)... those were pretty sweet, and when you played multiplayer, it was funny how people's greed would take over as they went for the little thief and his blue potions. :D

Edit: I just played Ryu ga Gotoku this weekend, and witnessed some of those attacks for the first time. Hilarious! This game needs to come out in English, and subtitled... a dub would be tragic.

Pirate's Wrath is better

Can someone post a video of Pirate's Wrath?

Super Nova is the coolest looking attack ever, with Bahamut Zero coming in close after, but with both of those already said, Anima's limit break from Final Fantasy X is awesome. I also think the presentation of the Magus Sisters is on par with SN and BZ but their attacks aren't really that striking in appearance. Watching them come out and do their thing however is just SO badass...

Oh, and Final Fantasy X is my favorite regular battle music.

I killed Sep in 13 seconds, give or take a few seconds, all he was able to accomplish is that barrier he puts over himself, which I dispelled instantly.

So I have seen the attack but only once.

I don't know if it has been said, but Valkerie Profile has some very cool attacks. So did Golden Sun. I can't really remember right now though.
