Coolest looking attack

I know that other attacks may do more damage or be more devastating, but Supernova is the answer. That or Anima's overdrive in FFX (oblivion?). Yes, it's too long and yes, it doesn't do enough damage...but just evaluating it on its appearance...it is ridiculous.

Now imagine it being 1997 when you first see Supernova. Your brain might just explode.

I killed Sep in 13 seconds, give or take a few seconds, all he was able to accomplish is that barrier he puts over himself, which I dispelled instantly.

So I have seen the attack but only once.
Some of us don't try to level up/get the 'super weapon' in RPGs. Its more fun that way. The first time I beat it, ny guys were in the low 30s, no Omnilash, only 2x for Cloud, no Vincent at all... I saw that attack about 10 times.

Yeah, usually my characters are below the "recommended" levels when I end up beating an RPG. Having to devise a real strategy to take down a boss is pretty fun...

So fun beating the last boss with your ass.

I wish I could find a video of the original Supernova in the Japanese version..its pretty lame in looks compared to the US one (but quite a bit shorter timewise).

Tales Hiougis! Here's an Abyss exhibition video, spoilers of course:

But the most notable one would be Juda's Majin Rengoku Satsu:

IAWTP. Tales games have the best special attacks imo.

I especially like the Tales of Rebirth dual hi-ougis:

And what the hell is with Tales of Legendia not having any?! Takes half the fun out of playing the damn thing.

whoa what game is that?
Street Fighter 3 : Third Strike

A full 720° needed to activate it, but its the most damaging super in the game*

*not counting some Genei Jin combos but those don't count

The link was actually on the sidebar of the english Supernova page. And damn, you aren't kidding.

Ah, didn't go to the link. It's been years since I saw the JP one..I think I remembered how it went. Every other link I've seen for it was dead. The first time I saw the US version of Supernova, it was pretty scary because I knew I did not ever remember seeing it before.
All I remembered was seeing Jupiter then those 'melting film' dots..wasn't too far off. :lol

On the flip side, the JP Supernova can actually kill you (it does a general amount of damage IIRC instead of 'down to 1hp').

I remember Fei-Long's full bar super move in Street Fighter Alpha 3 was pretty sweet. He sets you on fire with a furious ground combo that ends in an launching uppercut and then Fei-Long follow's up with a flying kick. I think you had to hit the opponent at a proper distance to get the full combo out.

Kyo's SDM > Akuma's shin goku satsu..

Cause at least you see how crazy Kyo gets in a pucnhing rampage where as Akuma's unshown is bleh. Just cause you don't see it doesn't mean it's all that fucking awesome. Bleh, Akuma is overrated. Kyo Kusanagi FTW.

Well, I guess I will start first.

No words are needed to describe this one... - http://www.youtube.com/?v=FsaszJ-9ajE
That is just pure awesomness :)
Scary to think that it could happen. :P
That was pretty stupid. Did you say, "scary to think that it could happen"? I mean, It went through Pluto as if it were dust, Jupiter was lacking a core and it somehow caused our young sun to rapidly expand at speeds exceeding light. My ass and about as cheesy as it comes.

Coolest attack ever- I have no idea.

This looks very rad, is 1.5MB but I think is worth the wait:

I wish I could find the needler and the chained grenade explosion of H:CE in GIF format :(

If you are going to use Asuka in SRW, there is an amazing attack of her with the lance of Longinus and going it berseek.

I liked Advent Rising, but most people didn't buy it because they were scared of the goofy bearded guy on all of Demi's posts.

Wrong thread. And beards are both manly and erotic. Women love them.

So, this Super Robot Wars game has robots from different anime series?

Yup, which is why we won't ever see them in America, too many companies hold the liscencing rights to sort out a publishing deal. See also, Jump Super Stars staying in Japan, etc.

Just look what its done for Chuck Norris.

I forgot to mention Iori's super duper attack in KOF '96 (and others)... the look over the shoulder in mid-pounding is priceless, heh.

Fei Fong Wong's first super attack in Xenogears.

Jumps in the air and chucks a ton of fireballs. It's like they never stop coming!

Has more to do with the fact it wouldn't sell than licensing issues if you ask me.

Oh and SRW Alpha 3's version of the duo-attack for Shinji/Asuka is way cooler looking.

In fact, all of SRW's animations, especially the PS2 iterations fucking rock.

As for other attacks, I love Ivy's Summon Suffering and Criminal Symphony in Soul Calibur 2 and 3, so sick looking and the look on people's faces when you do it is great.

Tizoc's 720 throw in Mark of the Wolves is awesome looking too.

I won't get into RPG attacks, way too many of them are cool.
