Two other passengers, who are 19 and 22, were also in the vehicle.
A Mesa County deputy who conducted a traffic stop 13 miles from the Utah border Tuesday morning found not only that a 13-year-old was driving a vehicle in question, but also that there were 23 packages containing crystal meth inside.

The two passengers inside the vehicle, identified as German Michel-Arreola, 22, and Irene Michel-Arreola, 19, were taken into custody and being held in the Mesa County Detention facility.

So you're transporting a not insignificant amount of drugs, which you'd like not to attract police attention to. Therefore, you have the kid drive?

Uh, I see a flaw in their brilliant scheme.

To me, it seems like the best way to avoid getting caught with 25 pounds of meth is to *not* let the 13 year old drive the car. Meth distributors don't strike me as a particularly clever group of people though.

"Kids don't bop anymore Frank. They're banging each other and doing meth before they hit grade school."

Can they charge the passengers? Seems like a calculated risk to let the 'kid' drive, he'll just do a few months in juvie probably.

^ It's just a suggestion.

Probably more than a few months, but yeah, they'd be far from the first people to use a kid since they know he'd get a lesser sentence.

That's just very sad honestly, a 13 year old shouldn't really know what meth is, or at the very least not have any idea or thought of trying to get it.

How do you know the 13 year old did not have the juice? He could have been the beast in the group. Heart has no age. Have you seen RoboCop 2?

God's had his chance.
One of two explanations here because meth:

Either they both literally didn't think they could drive that well. Been up for days, got that weak shoulder feeling, real life is out the window. "Fuck man that could be dangerous - WAIT - we'll just make the kid drive! He's not completely ButtFucked High on meth (yet)!"

Or - they saw an episode of Law and Order or something where it was explained that any drugs found in a vehicle were the property of the Driver - just like seatbelt laws. "Dude... i know it's 25 fucking pounds of meth buuuuuuut if we make the boy drive It'll all fall on him and he's a minor so he won't even go to jail! It's the perfect crime!"
