Could a Wind Waker sequel be pulled off on the DS?

Although I can see how people might be let-down by WW, I wasn't. The experience itself was great, in such a way that I didn't mind the somewhat low difficulty. And I loved the cel-shading used, although the character proportions could've been "corrected" I didn't mind the look. I will admit I was very doubtful about the look and style of the game when it first was presented, I wanted a "mature" Link like "everyone" else. I still want a mature Zelda game though, but I think there's room for both styles. None of the styles is inferior really, but different.

I loved the sailing, the dungeons, the smooth and fluid controls, the overall tropical atmosphere, the story. And the freedom you had in the game felt almost like GTA, how you can fool around doing all kinds of stuff at the numerous small islands. It was such a laidback, great game...at times it was more fun just "being" in the world than making any progress.

I was holding out all game to discover a vast metropolis, I just love exploring towns! The sailing just got dull IMO

The small populations on the islands in WW are not enough to support a healthy population, thus they are all inbread hicks!

Still it was a very fun game!

people actually think the DS can pull of a WW style game? Even though I don't think WW graphics are anything special the DS could not do it.

I'm pretty sure the DS could handle cel-shaded Zelda at like 2 fps or something. I'd rather a 2D Zelda or something innovative that uses the DS's functions in a unique manner.

I loved Zelda WW, the visuals that is. One of the most lovely games ever made! I don't think the DS can pull off a nice cell Zelda, and after all the hate and whining about WW i don't think Nintendo is ever gonna make another one.

hmm, i think the DS could probably do it. WW had pretty low poly counts all around everything had a very angrular quality, ala N64), and textures were rarely anything more than flat colours.....Combine that with the fact that a DS version would have 1/6th the screen resoution, and it sounds like it just might be possible.
