Dev Update: June-September 2026 Preview

Fellow Greymanes,

Crimson Desert has come this far thanks to the support and feedback you've shared with us since launch. Through this Dev Update, we would like to once again express our deepest appreciation and share a preview of some of the additional features and content that our team is currently working on.

We plan to roll these updates out gradually from June through September, and we're preparing them to be enjoyable both for those who have spent many hours in Pywel and for those who are just beginning their journey. Your feedback will continue to be an important reference throughout development, so please continue to share it with us.

Our updates to Pywel do not end with the content and features listed below. We are also hard at work on an upcoming DLC for Crimson Desert, and while we cannot share the details just yet, we are preparing it as a meaningful addition to your journey. We will share more details in the future, so stay tuned.

■ Story Improvements

We have been carefully reviewing the story-related feedback you have shared with us. To further strengthen the narrative flow of Kliff's journey and to make it more engaging, we are working to refine and improve the coherence of key scenes. We hope these improvements will offer something new even for those who have already experienced Pywel.

■ Re-Blockade Update

Changes are planned for Re-Blockade. A new phase is being developed to make the flow before and after a blockade more natural, along with ways to defend certain strongholds from the threat of invasion. Rewards will also be improved to make the process of liberating strongholds feel more rewarding.

■ New Combat Content

A new combat-focused content will be added, allowing players to prove their true strength as a Greymane. More details will be shared in the future.

■ Cross-Save

We are working on a cross-save feature so that you can continue your journey in Pywel across different platforms. By linking your account, you will be able to share save files across platforms and continue your journey on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

■ Damiane & Oongka Gameplay Improvements

Damiane and Oongka's overall gameplay experience will be improved. Various adjustments will be made so that all three playable characters can get a share of the spotlight.

■ Quality of Life Improvements for Non-
Combat Content

We will continue making improvements to non-combat content, such as trading and farming, to address areas that players have found inconvenient.

Please note that the features and content above are currently in development, and details may change when the update is released.

We will continue moving forward to make every moment in Pywel special for all players, and we hope you are excited as we are for the journey ahead.

Thank you!

- The Crimson Desert Team

As expected because an expansion for this game is a license to print money. I was very happy with my 140 hours but left a fair bit of side content to come back to. Hopefully the DLC is worth revisiting for.

I'm still only at about 80 hours in on chapter 9, but I would 100% buy DLC. I can't think of a single other game that has gotten me to commit this much time to a single playthrough and actually kept me playing.

I'll buy anything to support this game.

This game is very important as it provides us independence and choice in our AAA creators and allows the beautiful minds of SK to be on display for the world to see.

I love South Korea and the people there and I love Crimson Desert.

At 150 hours played, I certainly got my money's worth and had a grand time, but I will definitely look forward to checking it out again in a year or two to see what they've done.

Nearly 200 hours in and I -just- got to the desert.

Glad they're tweaking more elements like trading, etc.

Can tell a lot of the MMO remnants that just didn't hit right so it's good they're revisiting.

Now if I can only decide on what abyss relics to use for gear...

Old School Yes GIF

I knew they'd cave, given the game's success.

I can feel it, this is going to be a 'forever' game like Skyrim.

It will almost certainly be free, I just don't know if it will stay that way with future DLCs (if there are others).
Nobody likes to work for free.
It would be the No Man's Sky method of DLC, which essentially relied on more and more and more new people buying into the game because of it's constant content updates.

And this is why I'm being a Patient Gamer with Crimson Desert. The finished product is going to be a vastly improved experience over the launch version.

imo they are showing their players a tremendous amount of respect and appreciation with the work they have and are putting in.

Argue all you want that this should have been day 1…whatever…at least they are going above and beyond to their address their players feedback.

I'm at around 100 hours and still only 2 achievements and only just reconnected with Oongka. This game is massive and I love it.
