I used to think Crysis 1-3 was pretty cool and I played through every game when it came out on the pc. But now, 10'ish years later, even the remastered version looks silly and outdated. You really don't need to remaster everything, especially when it's done so cheap and looks like a modern mobile game afterwards.

I'm very curious to see how I feel about Crysis 2 after all this time. When I initially played it, I adored the campaign, especially the music. I think I'm pickier with FPS campaigns now though. Back then, I'd even try out the Call of Duty and Battlefield campaigns.

Crysis 2 is the best one.
3 is a stinking pile of trash.,.... yes, I replayed both last year

I find Crysis 1 good, but Crysis 2 was super enjoyable on Xbox 360 in comparison with the Crysis 1.

And yeah, Crysis 3 is terrible.

Now, about the trailer... I getting Crysis Remastered vibes here. They're not showing much of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 fo comparison... and they're comparing the game with the Xbox 360 version of the game for some random reasons...

I felling insecurity from them again.

2 was the best for me even though I enjoy more sandbox levels like the first game. The original just sucked outside of a few moments.

Wow, it looks better than the sub-720p version running at 20fps with lower than low settings. Impressive remaster.

How is FarCry 1 on PC these days? Did they fix that remaster yet? Apparently it was a lazy port of a console build or something.

Agreed, remasters should be restricted to cult games and honestly did anyone ever really care about Crysis?

I always thought crysis 1 shoothing mechanics was bad, but I loved stealth in this game. On delta difficulty you really had to think about strategy and use your environment to your advantage. There were games with similar scenery (far cry 1, and far cry instincts on xbox classic) but AI enemies in these games could spot you from mile away, so stealth was almost pointless.

Crysis 2 fucking rules. Never played 3 though. I played 2 on the crappy ps3 and i still loved it. I think gmanlives said it best in his video on the game. Its just a fun, bad ass michael bay or roland emerich film turned into a game

I'm not sure it'll look better than regular Crysis 2 on PC. Otherwise they wouldn't compare it to the freaking 360 version in order to look good.
If that's the case then I'm not even waiting for this remaster. Crysis 2 run like a dream on my 2012 PC (3570+GTX 680) and if they want to sell me inferior graphics in 2021 on 12TF console then I'm going to pass.

I wonder if crysis 2 remaster will look better than crysis 2 on PC with maldo HD mod.

If so, they would even compare with the vanilha Crysis 2 for PC.

Comparing the new version with Xbox 360 tell more about the 'remaster' than you think.

Might be my monitor or streaming quality but I was either expecting a lot more or they did an incredible job on the 360 version.
The 360 versions of Crysis 2 and 3 were two of the best looking games of that entire generation so yeah, they were already very impressive.

-Crysis 2 remaster will be based on PC dx11 version.
-original textures scans were used
--this time around there will be only one performance mode (I'm guessing dynamic 4K 60fps on PS5/XSX).
-remaster will run in BC mode on next gen consoles.
-John has said framerate is already solid
-there are no plans for RT support on consoles because of performancre reasons (there will be however RT on PC).
-they have increased the amount of reflection cube maps from 1 to 7, so even without RT reflections should look much better.
-SVOGI is used with great results making totally dark areas more realistic.
-there will be no change in polycounts (too much work)
-color grading will be similar to the original crysis 2 (unlike crysis 1 remaster).
-they have listened to Digital Foundry suggestions from the early days.

'Crysis 2 remaster will be based on PC Directx 11 version', but use Xbox 360 as a comparison tool...

Remaster will not look much better compared to PC verison for sure. SVOGI can make a difference but only in certain lighting conditions, and higher quality textures arnt something people can notice without viewing them from up close.

Probably, but they could comparing the PC version VS the remaster, just need to tone down some graphic settings.

For they're using the Xbox 360 show something is really fishy.

You right but I have more respect for crytek after this video, because these guys were really honest. There will be no "can it run crysis" settings this time around, because they dont want people to cry too much. Between the lines they have even addmited crysis 2/3 remasters will be just a cashgrab (they were saying every time consuming task was too much for them). I had high high expectations for crysis 1 remaster and I think that's why I was disappointed, but when you lower expectation bar you're less likely to be disappointed.
