From DRUDGE:

FLASH: The current version of the PARAMOUNT film TEAM AMERICA is a guaranteed NC-17, with surprisingly graphic scenes of puppet sex...

Obviously it'll be edited for the theatrical release...

Lucky for them it's a Paramount release. If it was an independent release, there's no way they could get that down to an R. :|

Fuck the MPAA.

Hopefully they'll do what they did with the South Park movie and make it worse and more offensive, and maybe the MPAA will make it the R version again.

Well I don't see the problem, i mean from the look of the trailer it seems this movie's no more "offensive" than the "comedies" such as Harold & Kumar, Dude Where's my Car and so forth. Only difference is, this might be good.

MPAA doesn't know what they are doing. I still can't believe Orgazmo was rated nc17. IT shows no sex and it has no nudity. Boogie nights was far worse than Orgazmo and it got r. \

While I'm not a big fan of the MPAA, you do realize that the trailers have to be "approved for all audiences" (hence the message before them), right?

How the fuck does a marionette movie get an NC-17? It just doesn't make sense. Even if it showed penetration...the characters are made of wood!

Bad language.
Which was the point of that whole "Patton" scene in the South Park movie. Violence is okay, but naughty language is a no-no.

Boogie Nights: New Line Cinema
Orgazmo: Not a major studio.

The MPAA really, really gives independent studios the shaft.

It wasn't even the language. It was ONE LINE that gave it a NC-17.

No kidding?

Sorry about the blanket statement then - I've heard of many a movie that got the NC-17 just because of some language that the MPAA didn't like.

I think they have trouble with any slang tems for the vagina.

They just cannot take out the puppet sex scene. I've told all my friends about this scene and all of a sudden - bam! - it's become a selling point for this flick! The prospect of seeing two puppets having sex is too funny to believe.

The Man Show shows puppet sex all the time, CC shows naked puppets on crank yankers and whatever else. Granted it is cable, but Those shows still only get TV-MA or TV-14.

Not those kind of puppets! I mean marionettes or whatever you call them. That's hilarious. Everytime I see 'em I just think of Thunderbirds.

Thunderbirds + Sex = Hilarity x 2.

Stone and Parker should just do what they did with South Park, after several NC-17s. Just keep adding more offensive material and send it back for another rating until they force the panel into confused submission.

but where do you stop? If you had master craftsmen, you could make a perfect looking replica of a man and a woman (painted up and with added hair etc), and film them having sex. Almost look like a porno.

but should it get a porno rating, or just a PG because they aren't real people? What about CG porno?
