Damn. The Witcher 3 never looked so good. After 100+ hours at launch. PS5 “enhanced” Witcher is amazing

Experienced this at launch on PC. Can't recall exactly, but thinking I had a GTX 780ti. Top-ish of the line

But the game never looked like this. Never. This is new and different. Don't recall Orange 🍊 madness in 2015 this way.

I remember doing a new playthrough just so i could get to Skellige and watch the beautiful countryside.
That place is magic. I still hear the music. My God was this game amazing. I'm not one to finish ANY game. But by God I beat this one. Bet your ass I did and damn was it worth it. It's rare an open world game can push me to finish it.

My Steam screenshots from 2015 still look great

Man I'm right with it. Can't prove it. But I SAID in 2015 the next game needs to be on Ciri. She took my soul with her badass-ery.

And sure enough it's a Ciri game upcoming

I felt every ounce of this story. Hard to believe it's been a decade. A young 28 year old I was. GTX 780ti. Throwing back beers and running the towns (in game). Even bought the damn PENDENT In real life

Unfortunately the PS5 version has LOD issues with grass. It happens on some PS models, while others are just fine.

Completed this game on Switch and even then it was magnificent. Impeccable atmosphere and world building.

Switch? Phew 😮‍💨 I'm sure my 2015 GTX 780ti ran circles on it. No need to complain on grass when you used a mobile device to beat it.

Regardless; you played an amazing game. So it's all good either way. Just feels weird to complain on grass and then say you beat it on switch is all

I have always been intrigued by miracle ports and it was an excuse to try W3 once and for all. Loved it. 100hrs easily without DLC.

Got it on Series X now, but will wait till 1 is remade. Then I'll play 1 to 3 in preparation for 4.

Played on launch using GOG. 100 hours myself. Sadly, never touched the DLC, which some say is better than base game. I attempted it for a hot second in like 2017. But I had forgotten everything and the whole game felt off. Combat etc.

That's how it goes sometimes when you do that. But I'm starting fresh and want to do the DLC as well. I also Appreciate miracle ports. Btw

I'm so obsessed with Dark Souls I expect All combat to have that dodge roll ordeal. So I'm having to re learn everything and it's kinda jarring lol 😂

I replayed it late last year on pc with all the rayrtacing on. Obviously dlss and framegen but game looked great. 4070ti I picked up 18 months ago for £599 putting in work still lol.

yes witcher 3 is power, especially if you play quality mode it has ray traced global illumination then
I'll always sacrifice my frames for Geralt. He's done a lot for me

My God man. I was 28 (2015) and bought a REAL life Witcher pendant necklace. Like really? You think I wore that shit to dollar general? No. I did not. lol 😂

As a witcher 3 and whole series fanatic, that game, even maxed out on pc with rt, stands no chance vs top current gen visuals, not to mention nerfed ps5 version- ofc by no means it looks awful, just u can tell its not on pair/anywhere close to gta6/matrix demo.
Hell lets compare it to witcher3 bullshot trailer before any downgrades to lighting engine:

And thats how witcher3 looked at launch:

Its a great game if you can put up with the awful clunky movement. I cant stand the way Geralt moves and controls in the game, is just off putting. From the animations to the combat, its just janky as hell

Yeah I mean, not saying it's the world's best. But it absolutely holds up. It's a decade old with "enhanced" capabilities today. Even the Switch can run it.

It's gorgeous regardless and still makes me smile

If only he moved like Dark Souls (my personal wish anyhow)

But it's ok 👍 he's good enough and moves well enough

Yups it has crazy good scalability, from og switch port looking like this:

to maxed out on top of the line gpu and highish cpu :

Just to give u an idea how demanding current maxed out witcher3 is, even newly released 9070xt cant hold stable 60 in 1440p native here, fps is barely in the 40s:

U can clearly see huge gpu bottleneck coz reduced resolution/introduced upscaling makes game solid 60-75fps right away.

I ran this joint on a GTX 780ti. 1440p. 60fps in 2015. How times have changed

Got the platinum on the new PS5 version a couple of months ago. I already have the PS4 platinum as well as 270 hours on PC. I think I'm finally done with the game for the next decade, but it has been quite the experience.

PS5 versions looks absolutely fine, Pro version looks even better thanks to higher dynamic res.

PC version obviously looks better with RT and stuff but I completed 1/2 of the game on normal PS5 last year and had great experience.

Even with just HD Ultra textures mod it already looked wonderful. I wish more studios were inspired by it vs. Elder Scrolls (sure, a lot of stuff is better there but how about beautiful world in third person and emotional quests for starters!)

Does your PS5 glitch out the grass playing this game?

Mine does, and some others do it too...

I've had 2 PS5s and both do it. Awful glitching, makes a whole field disappear and show up elsewhere

Told ya guys, game doesnt look terrible, but even compared to this witcher4, which stated by the dev is running in 60fps with raytracing on base ps5, its crazy big difference already...

Obviously topend pc/ps6 versions will dwarf that standard ps5 version like its switch in graphical fidelity :P

I remember building my current gaming PC in 2014 to run this game at high/ultra settings. I've always been a huge fan of the first two Witcher games and spend lot of time doing everything when those games first came out on PC. When I finally got to play The Witcher 3, I had to put it on hold due to the bugs. But when I went back after a couple of months, the game ran better. I explored everything, did every sidequest and 💯 the game. The game has the best sidequests I have experienced in a WRPG. Both DLCs are meaty experiences and I especially loved the stories in Hearts of Stone while with Blood And Wine, I loved the fantastical setting more. Whenever I upgrade my PC, I want to replay The Witcher 3 someday. Also graphically I consider it one of the best looking open world games to date

Now try the pc version with the new texture pack mod (made by the same dude who made the textures for this version).
