Daredevil: Born Again | Official Trailer

First time in years a Marvel trailer made me go "holy shit that was sick".

Still can't get over how perfect the casting is.

And the fight scenes look brutal! The leg break was gnarly.

That looked excellent - and surprisingly brutal for a Disney show.

That's awesome, and coming out so soon.

That was my impression. I assumed it would be tamer than the Netflix one, but..... Damn...

I watched the trailer twice and winced every time that guy's leg got smashed.

It has actors I like in it, hope they can capture the spirit of the OG series but keep it moving fast.

Not sure I like DD having a range of masks like a batcave or Iron Man suit armory. Street level means keeping it low key and improvised. That blacksmith guy must have had a lot of free time on his hands :P

Kingpin is a joke now though after getting owned by a teen girl. Never watched Echo but did he get a redemption arc in there or something?

Kingpin being shot in the head by Echo is a storyline from the comics. It's in David Mack's Daredevil #15. Kate Bishop facing Kingpin is from Fraction's Hawkeye run the series is based on.

Whether or not it happened in a comic is secondary to whether or not it works in live action.

Plenty of comics have 90 pound waifs bouncing around throwing giant dudes head over heels, but it looks ridiculous in LA. Kingpin vs Hawkeyette was like that, for me. Despite Haylee doing a good job with the role, in LA that fight makes no sense.

But Kingpin has brain damage? So a "Regarding Henry" type redemption?

I didn't follow anything regarding this because I thought it would be a complete reboot of the series until my brother told me not long ago that it wouldn't be a full reboot and that most of the old cast is returning.

Daredevil was one of the best series of the last decade (especially S1 and S3). So is this just S4 or what is the catch Disney?
It looks great and the trailer definitely captures the spirit of the original series.

There's no redemption. After his "fight" with Maya (Echo), he flees and then is inspired to run for Mayor.

As for Hailee's "fight" with kingpin, that was mostly her avoiding getting touched by him and using her arrows for the most part. She kept it ranged because Kingpin would have broken her in half.

If there is no redemption then why is he sitting there chill with DD? I don't recall if he knows his secret identity or not. But seems odd that DD would be cordial to KP if KP is just gonna be an elected crime boss at an even larger scale than previously.

Eh, at least the Punisher stuff should be fun.

The Echo trailer was incredible but it all fell apart in the final third of that show.

This trailer also seems really good so I'm hoping it doesn't fall apart in the final third of the show.

I'm more hopeful because this is a continuation and not an origin story of an unknown.

Wow, this is too much. This looks like an absolute gem compared to the dog shit shows they've been making for years.

I try to not get excited for anything from Disney anymore but holy smokes this cool

That leg break… gotta watch this one. I remember the super long cut where he fights to get out of a building in the first series.

I am currently halfway into S3 - and I just feel so bad for the Matt Murdock and how much he struggles to fight just one thug and always gets beaten up so badly. (And that guy never listens to anyone)
I am enjoying S3 more than S1 or S2 (Whole Ninja part was quite meh, even though Punisher part was pretty decent..). I do hope this new 18 episodes will be brisk in pacing.

I'm just happy they got (most of) the old cast back, with some unexpected ones too which would have probably be a better surprise if they weren't spoiled in the trailer (and I don't read casting credits typically before watching a show).

The trailer is very good though. Got me excited for the new season, even if... well, it's Disney+

Hopefully this'll open the way to the rest of the Netflix/Street Level stuff coming back. Jessica Jones & The Punisher for sure; Luke Cage I liked but it struggled with pacing and while Iron First had its rough edges I still found it entertaining enough, I think there's a lot more potential there even if the lead is a bit of a naff actor (they'd do well to capitalise on Tom Pelphrey and have his character in it more, one of the best actors of this generation imo).

My only hope is they don't get too carried away with crossing the Street Level/Netflix world with the MCU world, I'd rather this stay its own thing. This incessant obsession they have with crossing everything over just ends up diluting and limiting many properties, some things just need to occupy their own space tonally and don't fit together. Keep it to brief cameos and mentions unless there's a very fitting story and the vibe matches. Another issue is that the stuff you don't enjoy ends up becoming homework just so you can keep up with the overall story, this is why I'm pretty much done with the mainline MCU stuff, there's some great stuff in there but I don't wanna watch 2-3 naff films just to be clued up going into one good one.

This does look great, but I do fear Disney may have burned a lot of bridges as a brand with their other content, fingers-crossed this gets strong viewership if it's as good as it appears.

Pretty good trailer.

But I'm not getting tricked into watching another Disney+ MCU show. Wandavision was the biggest waste of time I've ever seen.

It's even been renewed for a S2, plus a Punisher special, I think. Pretty ballsey when it hasn't even been released. Of course they can just quietly cancel it all if it still underperforms. But I liked the Netflix stuff so hopefully enough of the creative team is back for this. I wonder how much of a legacy the Defenders will have. If the Iron Fist guy has spent the last 8 years or whatever getting into shape I could stand to see some more of his story, especially if he brings Jessica Henwick with him. I'm guessing Rosario Dawson is in this, unless Ahsoka keeps her too busy?

They really should backdoor Blade into this. No direct vampire stuff, but just have DD run into Blade at some point.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus[a] by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him." 3 Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God."4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?
