I never played Dark Cloud and I want to pick up the 2nd one. Will it make a big difference if I didnt play the first one?
The first one is "good" enough to make you swear off ever playing the second game (which is awesome, btw :b).Straightballin said:Alright my compusa didnt have darkcloud 2 for 9.99 so I said Ill give the original a shot and see how that goes and buy the second one later and I bought it (Still havent played it yet). So how is the first one?

FIRST ONE SUCKS, DONT PLAY IT

I doubt it's really as bad as you all put it out to be.
Silly GAF groupthink, you guys will never learn.
Amir0x said:Not groupthink, it just doesn't hold up at all. It's like when you finally fuck a supermodel, and then you realize all the startling flaws your ex-girlfriend had. Dark Cloud 2 is so many times better than Dark Cloud 1 that even attempting to play the first has become a chore.
Straightballin said:Just played about an hour of it. Not liking it as of now hope it gets better.
The game gets better once you leave the main city. Which I think takes awhile
Hey, I liked Dark Cloud 1...in many ways the GAF groupthink as you put it is retarded (Bof: DQ, Maximo1, ZoE1, LM, DC1) but I still take the general bandwagon sway into consideration when when making suggestions for othersdemi said:I'm gonna play Dark Cloud 1 after Shadow Hearts.

How the hell was georama dumbed down in the second game? In the original you placed down a house and stuck the proper accessories (people, chimneys, etc) into slots and then chose to face them north south east or west. In the second game you have much greater control over who lives where, and other things. Any chimney cn be placed on any house in any position facing any angle. You can even place down fences in any shape or type.sonycowboy said:For example, I enjoyed the Georama quite a bit more in the first game. They actually made is simpler and "dumbed" it down for the second game, dictating your options much more.
If you are prepared to doo all the dungeons, mini games and side quests, the game could take you longer than 100 hours+, although its not dungeon after dungeon because there are many other things you can do in between, the dungeons do get tedious at times. Each room/level in a dungeon is randomly generated, but it all feels the same and you have to do the same thing in each dungeon. It does get more exiting after this dungeon though, so you ahve something to look forwards to.Straightballin said:Thats good to know. I thought it was just going to be dungeon after dungeon. About how long is the game?
