I just got my new laptop in the mail yesterday! An almost exact replica of Dark10x's machine.....

First the machine....

This thing kicks some serious ass! I haven't installed any 3D games yet but I've been playing some emulators and lemme tell you....this screen on this machine is OUT OF THIS FUCKING WORLD!!!! It is the most beautiful computer screen I have ever seen! The picture quality in 2D games like Streetfighter Alpha 3 and Metal Slug is RIDICULOUS!!! Samurai Shodown looks so beautiful now it's like a whole new game! The sprites are extremely detailed as are the backgrounds! Man I am so happy with this laptop. It was $4300 WELL SPENT! LOL and you wanted me to get a PSP????? LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!! C'mon man....you can't begin to compare what you get out of a PSP to what you get out of a laptop! It's apples and oranges. The only place I would have used my PSP is here at work, and occasionally on the road at like a grocery line or whatever. But now that I've got my laptop, I won't be thinking of getting a PSP anytime soon.

Anyway when gaming on your new laptop and not experiencing any framerate issues in any emulators so far j00 gotta...

Also $4300 for a machine that isn't really that portable, is too hot to sit on your lap, needs too much power to be fully utilized on the go, and still has a ghosting LCD screen is fucking stupid.

It's fucking stupid.

I didn't think Dark's was that much, but it's not like he bought it to be a laptop anyway.

Do they make PC laptops where you can use any Soundcard of your choice?

I know they make PC laptops now where you can change graphics cards and what not, but what about Soundcard?

if they are available now, id probably get super juiced up one with an audiophile 2496 in the near future.

Congrats on your new notebook.

But yeah, you really went overboard on the price, especially if you just want to run emulators on it. I got an Alienware laptop (3.2ghz P4 with 1gb of RAM and a Radeon 9600 card...still waiting to hear about the 9800 card so I can upgrade) loaded with crap last summer and it was a little over $3000. (which was a gift; fuck if I'm going to somehow come up with that much on my own!) Seems like for $4000+ you could have gotten something even better though.

Oh, and while having a powerful laptop is great and all, it's not a gaming system. You need that PSP too. $250 should be pocket change to a big baller like yourself.

Why do I crack you up?? Dark got his a grand cheaper than you did and I work in the IT field and have access to lots of deals. Easily could have gotten the same machine for about $2000

Well, ya didn't mention that you're in the IT industry and can get deals. That's a whole different ballgame. But I dare you to post a link to a dealer that can me the exact same machine with the same kind of warranty, the backpack and all the other shit thrown in for more than say, a couple hundred bucks less.

And Dark10x's machine is not QUITE the same.
