Kumiko Nikaido
Vindication...sweet.
...sucks.
The new horror film with Anna Paquin, Lena Olin, and Giancarlo Giannini among others was slow, yet interesting (in terms of plot). This movie had me watching for the typical horror cliches (lights flickering, figures in the shadows, disappearing figures in photos, CG thingies on the ceiling, the parents that don't listen, the one guy that knows the truth, yada yada yada). Overall, the film looked creepy....but didn't illicit the creepy feelings within to make your skin crawl. You've seen this stuff many times over and over, and done way better.
Where Darkness seals it is the ending. Oh geez....one of the worst and unfulfilling endings ever.
Wait for Darkness on cable if it still piques your interest. If else, just pass.
