The music producer was best known for being the estranged husband of singer Liza Minnelli.

Shame. I don't know if he was especially well known in the US but he was quite a fixture of various UK reality shows and was always entertaining and a nice guy too it seems.

Apparently Liza isn't in the greatest of shapes either though not sure how accurate that is.
