fantastic stuff..surely this is the best looking psp game yet
Daxter for PSP plays out in between the first and second Jak games, answering some of the questions that were left unanswered after that first game's happy ending and the second game's grim opening. The hero ottsel is on his own while Jak is being tortured and made into the Dark Jak-capable creature he becomes. Hey, any way you can cut it to get a starring role in a game, you do it.
Screenshots of Daxter in action don't do this game's visuals justice. Our own direct-feed video of the game (posted last Friday) barely represent how great this game looks on the screen. The PSP Daxter follows closely on the PS2 game it's modeled after, with enclosed stages instead of the wide-open levels in the console edition. Animation is very smooth and expressive, while the framerate never hedged in our play-through of the Wine Cellar demo sequence here at E3. This given stage was a perfect example of how the visuals compare, and the scene opens in the bar Jak gets many of his missions from in Jak II. There are neon lights in the background and all kinds of background detail in this familiar room. What is new is the back-door leading down into the Wine Cellar, where the action all begins.
