So has anybody ever seen this?

I read about it a few months ago in Newtype, didn't realize it got picked up in the states, and it's actually coming out tomorrow. It was done by Production I.G, and judging from the trailer, it looks pretty crazy.

Also, they're showing it via webcast all day tomorrow (Sept. 28th) at the website (http://www.dead-leaves.com)

This sucker went WAY under the fansub radar, at least in terms of hugely successful anyway. I remember a group had done it but never finished it off, I wasn't really following it though.

Well it was a pre-license/co-funded by Manga Entertainment. It came out a few months ago in Japan although none of the groups who dabble in licensed stuff touched it for some reason. They showed it at AWA and I meant to go but didnt get a chance.

Btw, the Japanese cover is way better.

I don't know why companies don't just use the original Japanse cover art when it's obviously so much better. At least Namco didn't mess with Katamari...

Japanese Regular DVD:

Japanese Special Box Set: (came with a bonus book and booklet, as well as 2 Kubrick figures of Pandy & Petro)

I liked it for what it is: Japanese trying to do american spike & mike style animation.

It's like FLCL meets Beavis & Butthead done in a mix of manga and american comic style. There's not much story, and it's a little gross but the directing is pretty good and the music is great.

I picked up the Japanese LE and between the movie, the extras, and the kubrick figures I thought it was worth the money. I'd definitely recommend the US release when it hits for anyone who doesn't mind something a little different.

It's a lot more crazy and fun like FLCL than the new Gainax Cutey Honey which is also trying a semi-FLCL style.

The new Cutie Honey fucking rocks, in any case ill probably pick this up since it will most likely be pretty cheap

awesome ova (just finsihed watching it). anybody who likes mindless action mixed with unbelievable art/animation (and good music selection) - should definetly watch it. (the dub was meh tho)

Only a few hours left! Even if you hate anime, check it out... it looks like a comic book come to life. You'd never know it was made in Japan.

Glad to see someone else liked this (or even watched it) besides me - just picked up the dvd a few hours ago.

It's more of a like built on awed respect, but yeah, it's something that everyone should at least give a chance. COME ON PEOPLE!
