Dead or Alive 4 - So... will it... or WILL IT NOT... be released in 2005?

recent pics show it was changed from "Xenon" to "Xbox 360"

I must have missed it. But now I saw confirmation in the ruliweb videos.

The game looks good, the hair looks a bit weird though. Hopefully they'll fix it in Doa5.

Yeah I'm tired of having no games for my 360. I'm selling it. PM me if you're interested.

No DOA4 by Friday = No 360 for me! : (

Welcome to the world of a console launch :lol happens everytime, oh and there are a few titles coming out by the end of march at least

Well the family book near my house sold it to me a day early.

Just finished all of the story mode in a marathon session.

Have to say this could be the most tounge - in- cheek DOA ever.

And they actually resolve storylines (such as they are) in this one.

I'll answer any questions while I'm still up, so feel free to ask.

How is Ryu? I read in an interview with Itagki that his move set was changed somewhat - any major differences with any of the characters moves? Also - the graphics - how do they stack up against the current crop of 360 titles?

first off you probably dont even have a 360. and if you do, you're not making sense with your other point. no DOA 4 by friday no 360, ok. so what are you going to do, sell your 360? by the time you post it on ebay or wherever, sort out all the details, get payment, package it up and get to the post office (which is a nightmare right now as well) it will already be next week and you could "finally have a game" for your 360. then you say there are no big games until fall. isn't doa 4 a big game for you? it's coming out next week

Yeah, played one match online. It pretty different from DOAU. You have the lobby where the game is going on where you and and others can watch the cuurent match being played on a TV in the room. But to actually play you have to leave the lobby and go into a set up like when waiting in DOAU. I don't know if voice works though. There was a way to text message, and I didn't hear any voices.

was it street dated?

Yeah, right on the display box. I just brought it up to the counter to see if I could buy it at midnight as they close at 1, but they just took it from me and gave me the game. It was sweet.

the guy who said DOA:U had bad lag is full of crap. it was pretty lag-free on xbl.
it can have bad lag on occasion... you can tell though because even the character select screen lags... then again any game has bad lag with a bad connection between two people...

a rep from tecmo said they are shipping the game on the 30th (according to txb). how'd you get it? not saying you're lying, just seems strange that a mom and pop shop would have the game even though it hasn't been shipped to anyone yet (unless you live in japan, in which case disregard all of the above)

also, i barely ever had lag in DOA:U and we usually played with 4 people at least. (that is how i owned DM time and again)

yea DOAU lag would become unbearable especially when more than 3 people were playing

It worked fine for me most of the time, and when it did lag it was usually down to one player in particular. When they left, the lag would disappear.

Ryu, seems pretty much the same, though I was pretty much racing though. He has a new teleport attack which makes him appear above his opponent.

As for the graphics, I have a widescreen SDTV in my apartment, so the charecters look only a little better than what you would see in DOAU, may change at higher resolutions though. Animation is where it's at though, very smooth, very fast. Also some costumes have fur shading.

However charecters with long hair looks like their hair is made out of ribbons. It's a pretty horrible effect.

Also of note, On the signs where it scrolls Congrats on the 360 launch, after a few matches it's changed with the motto associated with your Gamertag.

I'm taking a wait and see approach right now. It was pretty interesting. Also there is a shop in the game where you can buy things to personalize your avatar, and if you are lazy unlock new costumes.

It looks like you earn credits for the shop by winning online.

worked fine even with 8 people, the only time it really lagged is when someone who was actually playing (and not just spectating) had a bad connection...

it was the only game besides battlefront II i have ever really had issues with on live (rare but still disrupted my gameplay), pgr and pdz are smooth as silk.....so yea i`m hoping for this to be a good experience

Family Book isn't exactly mom and pop.
I live in Japan, it's coming out tomorrow here. (actually now it's today)
Also if you still don't believe me check out my gamertag on xbox.com.

My gamertag is the same as my user name here.

Cant wait to try Brad out online.

Im hoping online isnt as laggy as doau.

is it just me or does the music in the intro sound like the big trouble in little china theme ?

The lag is going to be entirely down to the connection. So if you had lag on DOAU, you're probably going to get lag now. Maybe time for a new ISP?
