Well, you jerks have done it again.

Every time there's a "What are you listening to" thread, I pop in to see what the denizens of this board are listening to.

90% of the time, I find some music that interests me, so I look for some songs online. Next thing I know I'm listening to this music going "Hey, this is pretty good..."

This constitutes a trip to the record store where I spend way more money than I should on new music, mostly music recommended by the fine people here.

I guess what I'm saying: Thanks for filling my CD case while emptying my wallet.

The new album really underwhelmed me at first, but now I think it's fantastic. There's a certain sound they capture that isn't readily apparent.

Damn, what an astounding level of ignorance.

Anyway, since it was brought up--I constantly get suckered into Xiu Xiu thinking "This has got to be good, it's constantly raved about". It's happened on three consecutive albums now, and every time I am somehow surprised that I hate it. It's like candy corn in that way.

The Arcade Fire are great. Overhyped, but great.

I personally like the Arcade Fire, and that was after I thought they were overhyped and nothing new. But it grew on me. However, they do get way too much praise. The best album of 2004, as according to Pitchfork? No. But enjoyable.
