Here's your look at the Death Howl reveal trailer for this upcoming soulslike deck-builder game. The Death Howl trailer showcases the spirit world you'll journey to, gameplay mechanics, and more. Death Howl will be available on PC in 2025. A demo for Death Howl will be available on Steam on January 20, 2025 at 7 PM CET/10 AM PT/1 PM ET.

In Death Howl, you play as Ro, a grieving mother navigating an ethereal, stone-age Nordic-inspired realm in a desperate quest to reunite with her departed son. As Ro, you’ll face relentless spirits in grid-based, turn-driven battles that demand not only tactical precision but also the ability to adapt.

Gives Banner Saga vibes with its art and animation (unless its the same devs). I do love me some card battlers but I've yet to try 1 with this tactical gameplay that I've liked. Will try the demo and see how it grabs me.

people need to avoid to easily label soulslike in this turn based
there is no souls in turnbased.

i recall, from software once make action deckbuilder as well
but i think it's action, not turnbased.

- hard game doesnt make souls like. if yes, megami tensei, wizardry, are considered souls before souls
- respawn enemies is there since who knows when
- stamina is only the name, you can name it real name back in the day : action point
- minimal, ambiguous, cryptic lore? it's there since beginning of game industry take more detailed than atari
