First I'll say that certain people need to be put down. I don't think that the government should be in the business of expressly stating that murder is wrong and illegal, and the consequence of such is that "we get to do what we said not to". Moreover, it's way to easy to get the wrong person and there is way too much bias, corruption, and neglect in the justice system for it to be executing people. It's also cheaper to incarcerate people for life than it is to execute them. And the death penalty has never been a deterrent to crime. If so, it would have stopped thousands of years ago. The death penalty is basically for revenge, and it only has the benefit that said person will never commit another crime. On the balance, It's a waste.
